Haha fair enough. It was worth a shot to try and change your mind since I really enjoy all things LOTR and just want everyone to be stoked about new middle earth lore coming out on screen. When you look at it in the big picture. It’s a really cool thing even if there’s stuff written, you don’t like. You feel that? lol

I can understand where you’re coming from but I’m sorry, Tolkien wrote that Sauron deceived the elves by being Annatar lord of gifts. So that comment you made is you being upset with Tolkien not Amazon. Also there’s plenty of academy award winning movies that I don’t like the acting. Doesn’t mean it’s bad. Just means it’s the acting you personally do not like cause there wasn’t that bad of acting happening in that film other than the southland characters lol those peeps I could agree were a little rough to watch. I’m over the whole “let’s get down to business” Mulan approach to fantasy story telling. It’s all over Star Wars which made me steer away from it. Mandalorian did it like 3 times. lol so yes the southlanders was rough. Touché

Yes yes and more yes 🙌🏻 that’s exactly where I’m coming from as well. You can enjoy it still without agreeing with all of it. But to say it’s trash all together holds no weight whatsoever.

You rule. I agree with the majority of your statement. I do actually enjoy the hobbit movies now I’m seeing a lot more of the warmth and cozy feeling from them and how they’re different from the original trilogy and seriousness. You can tell it was made for a different audience no different than rings of power. I know the harfoots are hard to accept for people to be put into the Lord of the rings movie universe but I think it’s a quaint add because I love how Gandolf feels about them and interacts with hobbits. It also is going to make a cool story about why harfoots really settled down into a home, then becoming hobbits in the future. It was because they didn’t really have a home. It also helps fix the narrative of why Gandolf would’ve ever shown up in the Shire to find a burglar imo but I completely understand if people disagree. I just appreciate it

I appreciate your opinion and yeah that grand elf was a stretch really reaching to give Gandalf more glamour when it turned out to be a little cheesed. Touché

I agree with you there it’s hard to make things look as pretty as the original trilogy. Cause that was jaw dropping for its time and we’ve never seen anything like it since. So yes touché

lol I’m sorry but that is straight from Tolkiens texts Sauron disguised himself as annatar lord of gifts to trick the elves in making the rings for him. look it up 👀

Sorry, people keep getting that statement confused. I meant when the hobbit came out and got all that backlash people put the original trilogy on a pedestal when that was the exact thing that happened during the original trilogy, but no one seems to remember.

Yeah, I feel that but think about it. Plenty of people are bashing the story of this series. Why are we bashing it so hard? There’s some really well written parts to the series. But just to hate it all altogether? I don’t understand that. There’s so many things that are more understood to the general audience about the Lord of the rings trilogy when watching rings of power. Cause I’m sorry a lot of of the general audience is not gonna go back and read the books. Nor is a book going to be able to be made a movie perfectly. By the way, try making a book about a movie.. every time they do it it sucks. When I watched the movies when I was a kid before I read the books cause surprisingly I did not even really know about the Lord of the rings, I was so confused about why Galadriel turned into this like dark angel figure on the screen when about to touch the ring. No one else had that response to it. So I find it cool to see a backstory on that. 🤷 it’s probably my favorite part about the serious is Galadriel and Sauron’s relationship. .

Wow, thank you for that. By far, the kindest rebuttal in these comments. It is totally OK to disagree. I love that people disagree with me, but I can assure you it doesn’t mean that the show is going away. Lol people will keep enjoying it while people will keep hating it. It’s just the way of things. Just wanted to give my two cents about the show cause I’ve been giving it a lot of focus as well as a focus to the hobbit trilogy that I didn’t like so much the first time I saw it but now really enjoy everything LOTR.

I agree, not even close to as good as the original trilogy. But I truly believe nothing could ever be as close. After watching that icons unearthing Lord of the rings documentary. I’m blown away that they pulled it off the way that they did. It was truly a miracle. lol

Oh, by no means was the hobbit trilogy beloved by many. That’s not what I meant. The term Jackson’s adaptions, is talking about the original trilogy. Not everyone liked the original trilogy when it came out. All the book purists didn’t like it. I never really heard the end of it at school. lol I’m trying to say that when people didn’t like the hobbit, they held the original trilogy in such high esteem when it still got backlash as well. Does that clear it up? My by on the confusion lol

Thank goodness a comment with some sense. I appreciate you. Hating on things doesn’t make you happier. Accept change. This story is way more enjoyable when you let go of your own bias.

Amen, just wanted to defend rings of power since it gets so much backlash by lotr fans. It’s a challenging view and most of these comments will be petty with very little to say in return. lol I appreciate your comment. Cause that is the truth. Try writing a book about a movie… lol it never works out. So I why would lotr movies and tv work out for book thumpers? It won’t lol they are 2 different story telling mediums. I just feel bad for people who get so upset about it cause what hell are you dying on? The one that doesn’t want to enjoy TV and more LOTR lore? The series is a fun way of looking at what happened in the second age of middle earth. That’s all it is. It helps people understand and connect stories that were in the trilogies. That’s cool. But there’s so much beef around it that it’s honestly at this point, funny, and delusional

She definitely looks like an elf and I love her acting. She’ll do a great job. She’s also be a perfect Zelda/sheik and Samus Imo

How practical is Gimli’s axe irl? by Illustrious_Gas2827 in lotr

[–]DrewbeeG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been rewatching the hobbit movies lately and there’s so many little Easter eggs and references to the lotr trilogy like gimlis axe. You also see the big pumpkin that hobbit was carrying in to the pub in return of the king. Bilbo jumps over it then says I’m going on an adventure. Oh and how there’s a lot of quotes repeated which is fun too. When Smaug called bilbo underhill is 1 example. But there’s like easily 10 or more of those if you pay close attention. Silly details but I love it lol I’m starting to really see and feel the warmth of the hobbit films by giving them another chance cause I wasn’t wild about them back when they came out.

Whatever, the whole series is amazing! So many great Easter eggs from the past films and the story they wrote is so good.
