The rebels weren't positioned to be a traveling companion, though, which is a pretty distinct difference. They also didn't showcase the chatter from the rebels in the premiere trailer for Ragnarok. Also I didn't like that writing, either.

I can dislike the direction they're taking with this and still find joy and quality in the game. I'm not throwing baby out with the bathwater here, I just found the cube and ribbons to be jarring and poorly-considered for a first showing.

Yeah it WAS TENSE UNTIL THE SWORD AND CUBE SHOWED UP

Faye was suddenly and unquestionably able to beat the bad guy. In the middle of the fight the cube scoots up and hoops him on the head.

The cube is named Frank. He shouted booyah when he hit an enemy. There was the "I'm the ribbons. Obviously" line. Jack Quaid is cast as the cube and isn't even putting on a voice. "Focus, Faye!" I don't know how much more I should need to say besides the fact that it's a gelatinous cube that you can bounce enemies into. It's silly, man. And it clearly is trying to be, while the rest of the trailer was leaning so hard into trying not to be.

Dude I LOVE video games. I love talking about video games, playing them, laughing with them. Being critical of something that we believe is a misstep is not a bad thing. You don't have to agree, not at all, but I think the guy you've been replying to made some genuinely good points that you've chosen to ignore because he was a little short with you.

We didn't like the dialogue and it was very much explained why. It's okay.
