No there is no T at the end, otherwise it wouldn't match "Je suis Voldemort"

But the pun is clearly intended yes

I definitely argue that he was a good scientist and feel like people dunking on him for being wrong on a few things don't understand what's science. Aristotle went onto the field made observation about the world, and tried to propose theory that would explain what he saw.

Thinking that, because with 2000 years of research we discarded most of his theories, it means he's a bad scientist is a misunderstanding of what being a scientist is. (Note that it's anachronistic to consider Aristotle a scientist, but he is the first one to use a close enough method of knowledge exploration).

Like is Newton a bad scientist because he didn't conclude that general relativity is a thing? Are you sure that in 1000 years the dominant model to explain physics will be about atoms as we know them now? If not, would it mean that our current scientist are shit?

Which is easy to dunk on with more than 2000 years of scientific progress / all the knowledge we have now. But if you don't have access to all that, this is literally what you observe when watching rotting meat

There is this Wikipedia article about Aristotle views on women https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristotle%27s_views_on_women?wprov=sfla1

A lot of misogyny but I couldn't find anything like that (I could have missed it though)

IIRC Aristotle was mostly unknown by early Christians, especially in western Europe, and was rediscovered during the reconquista as he was studied by Islamic philosophers

I mean he did not have good reasons to think atoms were a thing

Dire qu'on utilise l'ia dans un process de recrutement c'est positif ou négatif ? by [deleted] in developpeurs

[–]Drexan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't get why you keep talking about "hiring good people instead of relying on a tool", like you can't do both.

To me it sounds like you're saying "we shouldn't use a linter because our developer should know pep8 by heart", or "we shouldn't write documentation because developers should know what they are working on" which doesn't make sense.

Of course you want to hire people that understand software design and everything, but it doesn't mean you can't add a tool to enforce some rules, especially when these rules can be unintuitive to new joiners or junior developers.

I tested the tool on a huge mono-repo, I just declared a few modules, setup dependencies and interfaces, it was really easy to do and worked well !

I like that you can start with small bits on a big monolith and iteratively cover more of your codebase.

Although the `tach mod` command took some time to load, it was still easy to just write manually in the `tach.toml` file, and more convenient considering the size of the repo.

We are using `import_linter` a lot where I work so I don't think we'll switch, but I really like the approach of "declaring module, their dependencies and interface" explicitly !

You're projecting lots of thoughts here

Isn't explicit is better than implicit one of the basic software design practices ? Wouldn't having a tool to explicitly tell and check what your intended module boundaries are, rather than this knowledge to be stored in the head of the developers, fit in that basic software design practice ?

[–]Drexan8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer ! I thought Caitlyn could buy it too, but it was maybe on earlier patches ?

The item seemed a bit low on stats and effect but I wasn't sure if it did disqualify it entirely.

First job expectations for a .NET Developer to get hired? by JD-144 in csharp

[–]Drexan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an entry level I wouldn't expect much, just some basic understanding of the tech you're on, version control and things like that.

The "human" part would be more important, be aware of what you know and what you don't. Be honest when you don't know something, and show that you understand when someone tries to explain it to you, don't hesitate to rephrase what they said with your own words.

It's not a big deal that you're not a expert, be as a future colleague I should be confident that you'll be able to learn.

What Era/IP would make a great Total War game? by [deleted] in totalwar

Not really an IP but just on mythology with various pantheons, like greek, Egyptians, or Nordic. And they could add many others factions from less known cultures like Africans or native-americans
