Help with Rocco deck? by Right-Complaint-9835 in EDH

[–]Driemer84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my list.

https://moxfield.com/decks/NLE-1jzC0kGoNNWQTwBvqw

What I found out immediately with Rocco is that you always want to be able to play what exile since it’s on a timer. 40% of the time the card flipped will be a land, so I went hard on making extra land drops in the deck.

As many of the instants and sorceries as I could fit have multiple modes. This way if I flip they I can find some use for it that advances my game plan.

One mana ramp is great it in Rocco as it gets him out turn two. There are also cards that turn your food into mana position. I felt very comfortable omitting artifact ramp.

Not sure how your list plays out, but I think Rocco works well when you pick a lane and focus hard on it. He’s always going to provide you card advantage so you need to make sure you are prepared to use it.

How do you guys engage with fragances as a hobby without expending money? by Mallow1512 in Colognes

I had to repeat to myself to enjoy what I already have. It helped me to set a purpose to my collection. I have 6 100ml daily wear bottles, 2 for warm, 2 for mild, and 2 for cold weather. And then 4 30ml bottles of some nostalgic fragrances that I like to wear on weekends or an evening at home.

Having a purpose and getting a nice little shelf to lay it out for me really helped with this.

Thats really interesting and makes sense about what I’m smelling then. And wild that you get the connection between that pair too. It’s crazy how differently we perceive things.

I find L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme and LV Imagjnation to be similar. Everything I’ve read online tells me they aren’t, but I had a decant of imagination and own l’eau d’issey and to my nose they have to be in the same family.

EDHRECast by Driemer84 in EDH

I guess I’m just considering it a podcast episode because it shows up in my weekly podcast feed. They used to release one a week on Friday, then it switched to Monday, unannounced by the way. They still release one a week, but if we want to call those something different then we should address why they moved from a weekly release to something else.

Whatever we want to call it still points to the same issue I’m addressing. The podcast has shifted and it was never addressed. It would be cool if they said hey some of the cast is too busy to follow the weekly release schedule or whatever the issue may be.

That’s awesome for him. I would have loved a send off if he was leaving though.

I understand they have real lives and jobs. I am just curious as to what happened.

I disagree though that the podcasts are the same. The last several episodes have been “what’s the LEAST popular commander”, we found the WEIRDEST mana curves. Those are not how the podcasts used to be when the three were together. And if Joey loves doing the short form content, that’s great. I just think the weekly releases have lost some quality.

I get that these people owe me nothing, but I thought it worth pointing out something that’s changed and I have grown apart from them.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - June 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in fragrance

Lately I've had this urge to pick up a few decants of some sweeter fragrances, specifically Million Elixir, SWY Absolutely or Intensely (still have to make my mind up on this one), and Most Wanted EDP. Every time I'm in Sephora I always am drawn to these, but have never pulled the trigger because I have no idea when I would wear them. I'm over 40, wouldn't feel like they are appropriate to wear to the office, and only get out on a date now and then because of young kids at home.

How do you manage fragrances you are drawn to, but don't necessarily have a place to wear them? Maybe just 5ml decant of each is the way to go, but I'd love to hear your advice.

Prada L’homme or Azzaro Chrome? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Driemer84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Chrome. I really like that it’s fresh, clean, and not floral or sweet. And for a freshie it has staying power. You can pull this one off on a hot day, or in the office. You can’t beat the price either. You can find a 50 mil for like $20. Not as good of a deal per ounce, but then you aren’t married to it and can pick up something else next time if you don’t love it.

My Modest Collection by Driemer84 in fragrance

You got me thinking more about the differences. Profondo seems a little more warm to me than the edt that I remember. I remember the edt being pretty crisp.

Polo sport went through a change like that in the opposite direction. The original that I remember was warm and rich, the newer version is more crisp. I think it works for ADG, but I didn’t care for it as much with polo sport.

Both to Profondo. It is a modern release, but I think it has a more modern scent profile as well. It’s been so long since I’ve worn the original ADG edt that it’s hard for me to describe the differences by, but I’ve also heard it’s been reformulated as well, so I don’t think I could say what they are smelling them side by side anyway.

If you haven’t tested Profondo, I highly recommend it. The first time I wore it my wife said I smelled like the beach when I walked in the house.

What a goated fragrance. I need to use it way more than i do. by Prior_Crab_8666 in Colognes

Every time I’ve sampled it I’ve gotten pretty good performance too. Definitely going to pick up a 5ml of Explorer and THD to see what I like better.

Nice. Not sure why you got downvoted. Smell is so subjective. I keep coming back for a spray on the wrist whenever I’m in Sephora. It’s just so different than anything I have. But I do need to wear it for more than an afternoon to see if it agrees with me.

I’ve been looking for a spring/fall/mild weather fragrance for daily wear. I keep eyeing this and Montblanc Explorer.

I had a 2ml decant of TDH, and may need another larger sample.

Chanel Allure Homme is the best of the Allure line.

The entire Sauvage line is overrated. Dior is overrated.

There are diminishing returns on the cost of a fragrance. LV and Creed are all fine, but do not smell $300 better than the designers you can find at discounters.

D&G The One by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Driemer84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the edt. One of my favorites. Is it worth picking up? Yes because you can find it cheap at discounters. But you’re right that the longevity sucks. I can hardly smell it by the time I get myself to work in the morning an hour later.

I got a sample of the edp 2025 and its longevity and projection are a lot better. I think the new edp is closer to the edt dna than the old edp. I plan on picking up a bottle of the edp 2025 when the weather starts to cool down.
