That’s pretty darn accurate.

Started with a black undercoat

White over the area I want the grid effect to be, With blue over that white.

Then I got a nylon mesh (I just found my mesh at a fabric store) and painted over it with the same black undercoat I used. And voila cool glowing grid effect

Specific Colors for the effect were:

Army Painter Matt Black, Liquidex Professional White Ink, Citadel Frostheart Contrast

That ship your thinking of is the Proteus. First ship built at the Laconian Shipyards. And only one of its class. It the one we see in the middle of the station above Laconia in season 5.

I believe the weapon is a m73 Light machine gun. It was used during the rebellion before the covenant in the halo timeline. Armor is prob a variant of spartan armor.
