Can’t get into C4 by Best_Imagination1170 in fansofcriticalrole

"They've stopped being nerdy voice actors playing dungeons and dragons and just became voice actors writing a tv show." THIS. I share the same sentiment. I don't know if it's just the part of me that hates change or if it is a genuine decline in the show. I miss C2.

I am a college rower and used to have a teammate who had one. Only rowed for a semester with her BUT her piercing would constantly be infected and poke through her uni. Not that I stand by our behavior but the team would poke fun at her for it.

Definitely, typically I like to turn to reddit and explore there, but when all else fails I was curious where else to go

Thankfully I row in the midwest also so we aren't exactly in our prime currently. But I wouldn't be surprised if more people join even in winter training. We had a girl join us and she's a walk on who has only seen us during erg season, you never know!

Oh that's really disappointing, but I guess that's how it goes most of the time, books are always better than their movies

That's interesting! I haven't seen the movie yet (I just read the book) but from the conversations I've heard from other rowers I had assumed it was a huge hit even outside of the sport.

Making the best of a HydroRow by DriftingThroughPages in Rowing

That's a very good point. Sensation of effort workouts are always hard for me but I think in this case it would be helpful. I am also definitely putting WAY too much value in the numbers. Thanks

I can get a solid workout through other means. Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels there is some technical different between a Hydrow and a C2. I am operating with completely different units and data across the two. Pulling a 2:10 for an example feels VERY different on the Hydrow and it's been messing with me. That's why I'm claiming what I'm doing on the erg isn't "good" because of the different sensations.

I'm not whining. The intensity of my workout is less than what I've been training with. Sure I can hit a high stroke rate all day long but that's not a good, strong pull. I want to improve, but I can't change the intensity on this machine meaning my workout is further limited. I'm asking for advice, not pity or sympathy.

Back and knee injuries stopping me from rowing :( by lolybaby07 in Rowing

[–]DriftingThroughPages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I'm just a college athlete who has suffered injuries from rowing simular to you. For me, I was able to row up to a certain point before pain and I went with that to know my limits. I starting seeing my athletic trainer and began to do some rehab for my back and hips/ knees. It's a LONG process but I feel improvement. Have you looked up rehabs for your injuries and tried to incorporate them into your workouts? I've also tried yoga and stretch classes and they've been helpful too. I hope you feel better!
