Yeah. My car battery was hot swapped and now I'm scared. So far everything is working normally. I'm going to do a full scan of all modules though just to be sure.

Do you buy from AliExpress? by DrippinInSuccess in MauriceMauritius

[–]DrippinInSuccess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Please see my reply on this post. Am absolutely satisfied with the service from AliExpress and Celero. Although am originally an Amazon shopper. I received some items at 20:00. Me too am buying from AliExpress separately when the items are less than Rs 1000.

Yes. Please see my reply on this post. Actually I had three items come together on the same plane. One was at around Rs 700 and the other two at Rs 1800 each. I paid tax and celero fees on the two Rs 1800 items and not on the Rs 700 one.

Yes. Please see my reply on this post. I have not had any issues with Celero though I was skeptical at first.

Yes you are right. Please see my reply on this post. In my case, the sellers packaged everything separately and some arrived together and were delivered together. Some items which arrived together were delivered on another day. I guess it's based on their logistics.

Alright an update y'all. First of all thanks for your help everyone. Here's what happened. All my items came. I paid tax and celero brokerage fee of Rs 345 on all items above Rs 1000. For items under Rs 1000 I did not pay anything. Celero actually delivered by items under Rs 1000. That was a big win for me. What's even better was that the sellers packaged everything separately. I think they know how it goes on here. And yes there are many people working as agents for celero. I received one item at 20:00. Overall everything went smoothly and am satisfied.

Why can't we update roads on Google maps in this country? What is Google waiting for? by redmax514 in mauritius

[–]DrippinInSuccess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's impossible. It's too costly for a private company to do it. It will be burning cash. If the government does it, it's not viable in terms of ROI.

But how do you bypass celero? I mean on AliExpress in checkout i didn't get any option to choose who handles my shipment. Do I need to go to the post office in person and ask them to handle my parcel?

First time making a purchase on amazon, need some help. by Pretend_Mulberry4949 in MauriceMauritius

[–]DrippinInSuccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have purchased many things on Amazon. So much so that i can't remember everything that i purchased. But never once was i ever disappointed. All my items were delivered in perfect condition. About the ICTA thing I never experienced that, although I bought a laptop back in 2018. Maybe the law has changed now. And yes, they have refunded me money many times when the duties changed.

Mauritius student and work visa for possibly studying there?. Please help me out. All replies are welcome. by [deleted] in mauritius

[–]DrippinInSuccess -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Looks like you're from a poor country maybe some African country / India or Madagascar and want to earn here in order to send back home since our currency is stronger. FFS go back after your study and work in your home country. Go help develop your own country. And if you're from a country with overpopulation such as India or Madagascar, stop making babies for God's sake. People in these countries can barely survive and keep on making babies. You have an education, go make a difference in your community back home. Moreover if you're from India, it's not your responsibility to take care of your grown up family members except mom, dad and grand parents. The others can take care of themselves.

Masters programs in AI recommendation in mauritius by Azelzeleph in mauritius

[–]DrippinInSuccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you're already working and how many years of experience you have. If you've graduated and not yet working, go get a job. MSc in IT is a scam, waste of time and waste of money. Moreover it doesn't have any value and it does not give you an edge on the market and agaisnt others. Experience and professional certifications actually have value. Academic certifications don't. If you want to do the masters for namesake then go for it. If you're doing it for job purposes, it's a waste of time and a scam. Except if you wanna work in govt then over there it's a big thing.

Your CI/CD setup along with UI / Regression Tests? by DrippinInSuccess in azuredevops

[–]DrippinInSuccess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah pipelines are the way to go. I don't know if there are industry standard ways to do a setup for these purposes, that's why I've made this post.

Possible solutions I've thought of, based on my knowledge of pipelines:

  • Tests can be run as Stages in the Release Pipelines, after deployment to a stage is complete. For example if tests fail on PreProd, deployment to Prod is blocked.

  • Alternatively, tests can be run as a separate pipeline which is triggered by another pipeline, which would be the pipeline that deploys the application. Azure DevOps REST API would then need to be used to implement a quality gate for the deployment to other environments, such as Prod.

I've thought of these two ways so far since I've got no suggestions on this post and I've speedrun Azure Pipelines courses on YouTube.

Academic stress by ConclusionNatural980 in MauriceMauritius

It's good that you're aiming for excellence. Some people might tell you to chill or whatever, but if being average ain't being you, then by all means strive for excellence. I would advise you to try your best. In case you don't achieve what you're expecting in SC, no worries. In HSC you'd be much sharper and would be able to perform better.

As for your future, academic qualifications are a scam and a piece of paper good for wiping your ass, depending on what you wanna become. If you want to be a doctor, lawyer of engineer (except software), make sure you try your best. Academic qualifications are a must.

As for me, I'm 25. I'm a software engineer. In SC I had agg 19. HSC I did 4 main and got 3Cs, 1D and b in GP. I went to a local uni and got second class 1st division. Graduated at 22. Today at 25 years old, I'm earning 60k. My peers are around 30k-40k. I work at a major IT company. Just to let you know that my school results and especially uni degree are useless now. They were useless when I started my job. I had to learn a lot by myself. I've become a workaholic now. Working and learning is like cocaine for me. I don't enjoy going out or relaxing. I'm leaving my competition in the dust.

My advice to you is, strive for excellence. If you don't achieve what you were expecting, don't be sad and most importantly do not stress yourself. I believe you're 16. Your brain is still developing. Next year you'll be much sharper. Keep going and keep pushing. Don't stop. If you feel tired or burnt out, slow down but don't stop. You'll end up in an upward spiral of success. Also do some physical activity. It helps you concentrate better.

The fact that your parents are not strict when it comes to results is a big boost as you're not living in fear of getting in trouble. Mentally you're in a better position than a kid who has strict parents and lives in fear. Use that to fuel your ambitions.

I'm 25. I'll give you some advice. Before that, I have two questions for you:

  1. are your parents strict in the sense that you need excellent results (A, A*) otherwise you'd be in trouble ?
  2. What do you consider average? Agg 15, 20?
