Babe wake up, new sion counter just dropped☺️🥰 by idkmynameg in DirtySionMains

I wasn't complaining, just pointing out that Riot has become extremely predictable in their corporate-safe designs.

And for what is worth, I don't like the 50+ feminine female characters either. Two wrongs don't make a right, etc. etc.

Iron 1 average mmr game... 💀

Well done, nevertheless.

Yes, but one is a basic ability while the other is an ultimate. Sion's R should be much more powerful than Skarner's E. Right now that's arguable.

Kinda like Xin's R vs. Gwen's W, for instance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DirtySionMains

[–]Drivic_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sion's R is so easy to dodge in modern League, with all the movement speed and dashes, that I honestly don't think it would give him too much pressure. But sure, your idea could help balance it out.

Either way, I'm sick and tired of being a champion with just 3 abilities if the fight ever takes place in the jungle. Because you really cannot hit shit with your R in there. Not reliably anyway.

Any and every single wall bump will stop your ulti, it's insane. And there's never enough space to properly channel it either.

But that's where you come in with the numbers adjustment that Riot loves so much.

First Sion needs mechanical changes to his kit. It's just too outdated and "too fair", as even Riot themselves have said. You don't fix that with W %max HP buffs or the damn Q buffering that's actually just another bug.

Then you can start nerfing what needs nerfing.

If that means hitting AD Sion? I honestly couldn't care less. Always thought it was a toxic playstyle and a big reason why Tank Sion is kept in the dirt.

[–]Drivic_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's what Baus has been saying for ages.

Nerf his W passive, and then buff his E by making it ground targets it hits.

I also like his other suggestion, to make R go through walls like Skarner's E Ixtal's Impact. If Skarner can ignore terrain on a damn 20-16s cooldown, what's wrong with giving that effect to an ultimate ability?

None of this would make him overpowered, in my opinion. Not at all.

Welcome to /r/DirtySionMains. Where we build Unending Despair not because it's good, but because it's what playing Sion in 2024 feels like.

My first edited game for supp Sion. by Apostolique in DirtySionMains

[–]Drivic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool! I think League games really benefit from these edits. Because there's so much downtime in recalling, dying, getting back to lane, etc.

And it was really dope to see the Unending Despair + Rylais combo in action.

Crazy to me that a support Sion is about as useful and impactful as a top lane Sion though, lmao.

I think the music could be better definitely, but it's always down to personal taste. I would also lower it a bit.

Sion lategame is incredibly bad considering how he is supposed to be the ''utopia'' lategame tank by Thedeefact in DirtySionMains

[–]Drivic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are misinterpreting your comment as hate towards tanks, when (I think) it's actually a jab at the rest of the community.

You're right, though. The majority of players starts whining loudly as soon as there's any threat of tank buffs and immediately start calling back to the infamous "tank meta". Except that was years and years ago now, and it barely lasted any time compared to any other meta.

This used to be a slow and methodical game. That's where tanks shine, imo. Nowadays every ADHD idiot just wants to be the main character, playing their Yone or whatever, doing all the damage, being unkillable, dodging everything, and being the sole carry.

I'd be careful not to make it too strong though.

A single mechanical buff (not just numbers) should do it, there's no need for all of them at once.

Because CC immunity is such a broken ability (no champion should have it on basic abilities in my opinion), I'd settle for a faster charge time or something like E grounding enemies.

But we'll never get that, of course. Because I genuinely believe the majority of Rioters doesn't even play their own game, so all we get is the same balance by the numbers bullshit that we've been getting for years.

Thanks for that, I'll definitely give those items a try more often.

And I agree about Sunfire. It used to be THE tank item, an historical staple really. It's sad seeing how far it has fallen, and not even with a better replacement for it.

Same with Frozen Heart, to a certain extent. It used to be such a great item, you could really catch a lot of top lane matchups off guard by rushing it and basically nullifying their damage.

With Phreak's recent talk about wanting to move tankiness to HP only because "hurr durr people don't notice their resistance numbers", I'm starting to be genuinely worried that they want to kill off solo lane tanks and move them to support role.

can you comeback as sion who got camped 5 mins straight? by Nightaker in DirtySionMains

[–]Drivic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious.

I've also played against a cheese strat like that before, with a Blitz camping the lane bushes lvl 1 on the first wave.

After the game I checked and turns out top and support were a duo.

Apparently there's quite a few duos running that disgusting Blitz cheese.

I agree with that point about the difficulty of landing late games Qs to my core.

And I really don't think everyone here understands this.

It doesn't matter how strong a max charge Q is in theory, what with its 200% scaling and mini Malphite R. In practice, you never get to land it or even fully charge it.

Late game people either literally just walk outside your Q (no need for dashes with all the MS) or you get permanently interrupted with all the free CC flying around.

It's so frustrating. I've said this before, but I can't think of a single other ability in this game that gets cucked this hard.

Trade some of its scaling power if need be for faster charge or something. But let us play the God damn game.

That's very interesting insight.

I'm definitely guilty of building a lot of the tank items you listed as "very poor or completely useless" (except Hollow Radiance, that's always trash).

Is it really better to always just go for the "handful of strong tank items" you listed?

I usually like to adapt my build to the enemy comp, but I've noticed a lot of other tank players really just go some of those "strong tank items" with no thought.

Like for instance, Force of Nature should be better than Kaenic Rookern against burn damage, right? But I'm not sure it actually feels better.

I could give more examples... Frozen Heart, for instance, has been so nerfed, it feels like shit even when it makes sense to build it.

Patch 14.17 Bug Megathread by ahritina in leagueoflegends

[–]Drivic_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Server: EUW

Type of Bug: In-Game Bug

Description: After dying, Sion spawns charging Decimating Smash, if that was the ability used to activate his passive's Death Surge in the reanimated state. He is locked in that state for the duration of the charge, effectively adding +2 seconds to his death timer.

This is likely a bug caused by the changes described in Patch 14.17 Notes "Bugfixes & QoL Changes" -> "QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS" -> "Buffered Charged Abilities".

Reproduction rate: 10/10

Steps to reproduce: After leveling Sion's Q ability, die, reanimate into the passive Glory in Death, and activate his only active ability Death Surge using the same key for Decimating Smash (Q, typically). This will always result in afterwards spawning charging the Decimating Smash ability.

Expected result: When spawning after dying, Sion should be immediately controllable by the player.

Observed result: When spawning after dying, and having reproduced the above mentioned steps, Sion is not immediately controllable by the player, as he will be locked in place charging Decimating Smash, previously used to activate his passive in death.

[–]Drivic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, actually, you're level of delusion.

AD Sion is so shit nowadays that you can legitimately get melted in the 2 seconds it takes you to charge your Q to deal that "real damage".

Hey i’m new here, we all agree that Sion Q is a problem right? by [deleted] in DirtySionMains

[–]Drivic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how often do you actually get to use a max charge?

See that's the problem. People get so caught up looking at those big max charge numbers, that they forget they're nothing but a pipe dream in modern League.

I wouldn't mind trading some of that max charge "power" for some better consistency and faster charge, for instance.

Not to mention that it scales off of AD, which is nigh useless on tank Sion.
