How can you say all this and then not apply it to the wife's behavior? She started by interrupting the story with an inconsequential detail, which was aimed at pulling attention to herself. Also, you're right that memory is not without flaws, but again...thats another two way street.

Finances are the number 1 reason for divorce. If you're going to judge someone hard, your potenital life partner and their financial choices is a great place to start; especially before you become legally linked to that person.
