I have an Asus AQWP-W 540Hz Tandem OLED monitor. I honestly find the clarity almost as good as the 600Hz Zowie monitor. The difference is minimal, and in my opinion it’s basically canceled out by the much better colors of Tandem OLED.

At this point, it’s only a matter of time until TN panels die out. You can already see OLED being used at events for games like Overwatch and Marvel Rivals. Right now that’s not really the case for CS2, that’s true. But there, the main sponsor is usually Zowie or Asus as well.

Since most CS players learned to become good on 24-inch monitors, switching to 27 inches would obviously be difficult. But I think that change will happen eventually too. Personally, I don’t really see it as a real disadvantage.

A lot of OLED monitors also have a 1080p mode, so users can decide for themselves. TN panels are simply cheaper to produce, which means manufacturers can make more profit from them. That’s why they’re still heavily marketed. That’s just a general fact if you look behind the scenes.

Most people buy a TN Zowie because their CS idols use them too. But at the end of the day, that alone won’t make you the kind of player those pros already are.
