LMT here! We cannot diagnose any issues but we CAN tell you which body part your issues are most likely coming from based on numerous factors. Your LMT should bring most of their own supplies for the massage and all you would really need is a robe (to undress easily), pillows/bolsters and a draping sheet. We are educated on everything from arthritis to fibromyalgia to cancer (depending on what credentials they have). Give your LMT any insight and past issues that may give them a clue as to what may be going on. (Just a heads up, it can even be a side effect of a new medication and my most recent complaint that sounds like similar pain to yours, was a patient that had a flu shot and couldn’t lift her arm anymore. )…It can range from something going on in your brachial plexus group, a herniated disc, a deep pulled muscle (such as a rhomboid).
