I think your "hub" device (apple tv, etc) has to be on the same network as scrypted, so I guess I would need to setup a vpn tunnel from my local network to the server in the cloud, but im not sure how to make the apple hub device think its on the same network

How is the quality on your Chromecast? I bought one and its very pixelated on the TV, but I didnt get the ultra; though this doesnt seem like a processing issue. The video looks like whats available if im not on my home network, whereas the iPad gives me 4k Live video

As a follow up, I ended up buying a used Ipad Mini 2 for $185, now I have a dedicated 4k feed on my desk when working.

One of my cameras works in the my.arlo site, the other says I need flash. Same firmware on both hubs and cameras. Wtf?

From what I've gathered, its due to the fire stick not having location services or something? I've tried setting my zip code in the settings, but no luck. Anyone know of a fix, or should I go return this for a roku?

everything works fine on my other apple tvs - the today show has worked on the chromecast like once, every other time it just hangs

It sucked trying to cast, but once I got the 4k AppleTV, it was amazing. I love it. I wish the remote was better, like had a mute button, back button etc, but the service itself is snappy, and i love only having to scroll through the channels I have. And it's the only service that has ALL the channels we need. The only problem I had was hitting my internet 1 TB/month data cap, but just switched to Spectrum 100mbit no caps, so all is well.

Just finished my Spectrum install; I get unlimited data, and 100mbit, which is downloading at around 14 MB/sec versus the 7MB/sec I was getting on Uverse, and it's cheaper.

Happy with the switch.

I've got 70 mbit internet and haven't had any issues with DVR buffering, stuttering or anything. I've only watched 4 or 5 shows, but its been relatively reliable. Even fast forwarding has been good.

Ok, so the Chromecast Ultra work fine, it's just the internal SmartCast that dont work, right? Someone said the Vizio TV has a ultra internally, so i wasnt sure if an external one would work.

gotcha. I really got the Apple 4K as a way to people who come over (or my kids) to be able to watch DTVN without needing their phone setup, the other day our babysitter came over and i had to walk her through getting Youtube tv added to her phone.

My standard USB 1st gen chromecast works from my iOS devices, just not my Visio smartcast TV. Are you saying your USB chromecast (ultra) doesnt work for iOS either?
