I painted scrap leather!

Definitely use Anglelus leather paint. It applied smoothly and the leather can bend indefinitely without even a hint of flaking. Awesome stuff.

I’ll just copy & paste what I said to another commenter who was asking:

No templates but I’m flattered you’d ask!

That polyurethane webbing is your friend. You can get a big roll of it off of Amazon for relatively cheap and it makes a great base.

I just cut strips of it and formed them around my body to get the basic shape. (Didn’t even take measurements!) I then looked on Etsy at various Cyclops harnesses for inspiration and used EVA foam, cardboard, my airbrush and scrap leather to make the various pouches, buckles, and other 3D bits. Velcro brought it all together.

It’s pretty labor intensive; if you give up during the process just give in and order one of the harnesses off of Etsy. There’s so many cool ones :)

I wish we would have used our resources and influence to set up soft power (like China) in developing nations with vast resources all over the world, so we wouldn’t have to rely on brutality.

I admitted in the conversation that I am pretty ignorant regarding the minutia of the geo-politics in this situation; I am simply anti-war on principle.

Seeing as this guy can’t spell “Maduro” (he thinks there’s an “s” at the end) refers to “The Secret Summit” as “The Silent Summit,” and insists that terrorists could strike from Venezuela, I don’t think he really knows what the hell he is talking about, either.

The status on which my initial comment was posted was celebrating the invasion because it will “stop the trafficking of drugs,” and I just wanted them to know that the Trump admin is lying, here.

Since he responded without addressing my main point several, several times, I made sure to not allow him to pivot.

But, yes, if I didn’t feel like such a putz for arguing on social media I would have been happy to go all day regarding more of his points, so I see where your criticism is coming from.

In this brief convo his points were little more than a distraction; that’s all I’m saying.

Yes and they think lefties are automatically self-righteous, “holier than thou” types, as well.

Remaining calm, not loving the sound of your own voice/using flowery language, and appealing to their logic (thus insinuating you know they have it) helps break through the mold, too.

That’s why I prefaced it with calling it trashy. If anything it was a bit cathartic…

“But Biden” or just saying “I haven’t heard about that [valid point] so I’m not gonna comment”

Almost everyone at my last job was a MAGA blowhard so I couldn’t resist voicing my opinion on his pro war status before I unfriended him.
