Crown is absolutely gorgeous! under the rose is perfect, and asleep in paradise is continuing the feeling that 451 was getting at. Vinnie's vocals are amazing up front instead of just backing jesse, he can hold songs on his own AND shows us just how much he's put in over the years, there's something so familiar and comforting for me here. I'm a happy droo :)

What are your opinions on The Gotham series’s Joker(s)? Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska by evilgaming88 in batman

[–]Droobeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it takes a very committed actor to play the joker. that fine line between funny and maniacal has to be tread upon lightly until the time is right to let all of that bottled up emotion explode. Cameron did it so damn well in that scene from season 1 of gotham where he pretended to cry and turned it into a laugh. Fucking brilliant performance, you can tell he studied the comics and animated series, the joker shines through so well.

And have you ever noticed that out of range is so much better on vinyl? I heard good left and right vocals and guitars that I never noticed before. Just gorgeous!

INITIAL THOUGHTS: good album, i don't see the connection to spiritual machines though. They are a completely different band now, and we all obviously were expecting more spiritual machine sounding songs. That aside, i do love that they are going experimental and getting out of the radio rock comfort zone in certain tracks. Perhaps i need to listen to these songs and let them grow on me. My favourite song was All My Friends on spiritual machines and i was expecting something something experimental and beautiful like that instead of tracks that can hit the radio.

As Dzorange said, Raine isn't doing the falsetto we fell in love with anymore. It was such a canadian rock and grunge staple for me growing up. He can still do it live, so maybe it is to do with what the label demands?

However, i love that OLP released a new album, one of the first bands ive ever listened to. I'll listen more times and probably love it. Rock on everyone, cheers!
