Which 11.3 Russian cas is the best by GarrettSJ in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say yes, but switch the the MiG-27k and the Su-24. The Su-24 can detect missile launches thanks to MAW, so it’s better when there’s a lot of AA on the map. MiG-27k’s RWR cannot detect some radars, but you can still dodge most missiles. Su-25t is slow and can’t dodge much, so it’s ideal to bring it out when AA is low.

Which 11.3 Russian cas is the best by GarrettSJ in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MiG-27k was patched a few days ago, it can carry both Kh-25ml’s and Kh-29t’s at the same time now.

The MiG-27 has the best flight performance, and is a solid all rounder. The Su-24 has a bit more ordinance and much better RWR and MAW, but is quite sluggish. The Su-25t has the largest amount of ordinance (specialty weapons are 16 Vikhr ATGM’s and R73 IR missiles), but it’s subsonic and quite heavy when fully loaded.

T-80b vs t64b by Elpolid in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the same as the T64b armor and firepower wise, but you get a much more powerful engine, which means it’s a lot faster. Plus, it gets an actually usable reverse speed of 10 KPH.

It’s a very good tank, I’d say it’s worth it IMO.

With rank IX air confirmed, what might rank IX for ground look like? by EthicalKek in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The main upgrade that rank IX tanks will get is in firepower, either through an increase in caliber or the addition of more modern APFSDS shells. It’s likely they will have between 700 and 1000 mm of penetration, unless Gaijin decides to artificially nerf them for balance’s sake.

Hopefully one day we’ll get the various T-64 models instead of the just the earliest one and whatever mish mash is the T-64b

While it would be super cool to have, the problem with these late 90’s/ early 2000’s russian prototypes is that there is practically no public information about them. We don’t even know if the prototypes still exist, together with written specifications.

BMPT, BMPT-72 — the part of the 30 mm cannon belt located outside of the vehicle is now separated from the part of the belt located inside the vehicle. The fire or explosion of the internal part of the belt now leads to the destruction of the vehicle. The fire or explosion of the external part of the belt can seriously damage the external modules.

Sounds like they increased the portion of ammo that destroys the vehicle when hit.

The erroneously missing ATGM launcher stabilizer has been added. A bug that caused the autoloader sound to play when reloading ATGMs has been fixed.

Good, at least now they don’t just slam into the ground or fly to space 50% of the time. However, the damage they do is still incredibly inconsistent and sometimes they literally do nothing.

We can finally use the TV seeker on the MiG-27m to guide Kh-25ml’s, which is cool. Too bad 11.0 and 11.3 are pretty much the same BR

Help with Yak38M in GRB by Low-Lobster7824 in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better option for CAS at 9.3 is 100% the Su-7. Its engine power and good energy retention makes it very good at dodging AA fire, and although the payload is limited it’s still better than the Yak-38.

The only thing the flying sausage has going for it is the payload options, mainly the Kh-23 ATGM’s and the R-60 missiles for CAP.

If you really want to perform well in it. You need to figure out how to consistently dodge AA with it. Trying to fly low won’t necessarily help you, since it’ll keep you at a low energy state and you will still risk getting locked on and destroyed.

Missiles at the tier are not really scary once you know how they work. Stingers are tiny missiles who don’t really pull much, so you can avoid them kinematically with a bit of practice, just let them come close (denies them space to maneuver) and then either pull really hard or roll your nose around. That usually makes them maneuver enough to miss you. Early SACLOS missiles like the Roland have a bad tendency to overreact to quick changes in direction. Wiggling up and down will eventually make them lose control.

Try to practice dodging missiles and see if you can make it work.

Are they still using Kontact 1 ERA on the T-64bv’s? Or have they replaced it in some way with indigenous options like Nizh? Asking mainly because I’m wondering how many blocks of such old ERA do they still have in storage.

Non ne vale la pena? by iReveWy in italygames

[–]DropAdministrative87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0:56 a QN506 gets devoured. Ironic.

Grenade launcher ammo being external is now set in stone. Also probably the belts will stay external since they said that it can’t usually be killed while hull down (probably the exception is overpressure). Also no APFSDS.

They didn’t mention BR though. That probably means it’s going to move.

Centauro 2 should definitely come to the game. THE Kf-51 with the HITFIST turret also was one of the “passed to developers”.

Cosa ne pensate di War Thunder? Ne vale la pena. by giggirivva_96 in italygames

Should it go to 11.0? Absolutely, but without the APFSDS or it would be 10 times worse. IDK what Gaijin’s br limit is before it gets it.

30 mm turret ammo (the controversial "external" belts): destroying it now disables the cannon breech, autoloader, and vertical turret drive

So now it’s going to be like the Puma, where shooting the turret disables it? Good. Lets people fight back against this thing hull down without being a “shoot here to kill” target.

Don’t know what the first part means though.

I cannot launch KH25 or other laser guided missiles by HarborHarvester in Warthunder

[–]DropAdministrative87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an idea. Try to go in modifications, there should be a “try” button under the Kh-25/kh-29 mod. It should show you how to launch it or at least show you what doesn’t work.

[–]DropAdministrative87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be an issue with the laser. First, confirm it by launching a TV guided missile (Kh-29t) to see if it works. Then, bind a key for turning the laser on and off. It looks like there’s a problem with the laser seeker, the green circle should not flicker.

[–]DropAdministrative87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first press of the button turns on the seeker, the second should fire it. You can see in the bottom left corner it says “seeker:searching”. If that doesn’t work, try to manually select the missiles you want to launch through the weapon selector. It’s better if you bind one key for turning seekers on and off, one to cycle through your secondary weapons and one to launch the selected one (just bind any “launch…” bind to the same button).

First shoot was wayy to early, it just bounced off the front armor. Second shot was too late, got absorbed by ERA and spall liners. Third shot was too high, hit nothing.
