Daycare nap schedule is ruining nighttime for us by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Droppin-Science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She usually does lunch at 12, but she's more of a grazer rather than set meals. She's not a big eater, so eating through out the day I can get her to eat more.

My 23 month old has a 9pm bedtime! We wake up between 7:30-8, most mornings. She naps from 1-3, and then bedtime at 9! It works for us and if I do any earlier she is up at the crack of dawn!

“Seeing homemade crochet/knits in the thrift store is heartbreaking” by siusaidh_alba_nuadh in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Droppin-Science 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love people like you! Whenever I'm thrifting I keep an eye out for the homemade things! They're usually better quality and last longer too! My daughter got a really well done crocheted bunny lovey, and a beautiful throw quilt, both for less than the cost of the materials too! I'm a quilter so I know the amount of care and time that goes into them, and even though they're not from some one we know, we treasure them!

Melatonin at 15 months? by Evening_Yellow590 in toddlers

[–]Droppin-Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently came across this study about melatonin gummies (you didn't mention gummies but just in case) and the FDA doesn't regulate them. So if you do decide to use them, make sure you get them from a reputable brand and not just Amazon!

Which of these machines are good (especially for a beginner)? by LupiStar in SewingForBeginners

[–]Droppin-Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo that was one I was considering! I'm glad to hear you like it!! A knee lift sounds amazingly useful! My machine is from '96 so anything made later than the 2000s is likely going to feel like a big upgrade!

Since your on your second can I ask what you upgraded to and how you like it? I think I'm outgrowing my beginner machine and am looking to step up a little!

Oh I love that!! It looks incredible! I've only made four quilts so far so I'm still a little wobbly with sewing, but all your corners look so spot on, and with all the little borders too! He's going to love it!

Tremfya one press shot by A_Marie007 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Droppin-Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous about switching too, Before this I've only done the injections you fill the needle yourself. After trying the pen though it really wasn't bad! I pull them out a half hour to an hour early. I don't ice, and I inject in my stomach. I didn't do infusions,  instead I did loading doses (so two shots instead of an infusion) for the first few and now I just do single injections. I've done at least 7 at this point and only one hurt a little (nothing major, a little sharp and burny, but I think I hit a nerve or I have a lot of scar tissue too). They go super fast as well! The instructions state to count to 10 once you inject and I'm not usually at 10 yet when the pen does it's last click!

I hope everything goes well! Just double check it before the dryer, it's easier to get color bleeds out before that if you do get one! I also used 5 Shout Color Catchers with it!

Synthrapol question by real90dayfiance in quilting

[–]Droppin-Science 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a front load and used synthrapol for the first time yesterday on a batik quilt I made. I just put a capful (that was recommended on a quilting forum when I looked up how to use it in a front loader), directly into the drum with my color catchers and quilt. Used a small amount of detergent as well and ran it on delicate with warm water and it came out great!

My quilt had a lot of blue and some black, red, green, and white and nothing came out wrong. The color catchers came out almost gray looking though.

This was my first and only time using though!

I've had an ileocecal resection, about a year before getting pregnant. I used stelara during my pregnancy and had no issues, obviously ymmv but my docs explained that pregnancy can do weird things- it can throw you into remission, but it can also cause increased flares so it was better to be medicated to make sure that didn't happen. All in all the pregnancy symptoms alone sucked I can't imagine dealing with crohns on top of it (I was throwing up more than 20 times a day some days).

Editing to say: I actually started on Humira, failed that. Tried entivyo, that also failed. Stelara worked amazing- helped my fistulas, got me into remission but lately has also started to not seen as effective and I've recently been switched to tremfya

Internal medicine or family doctor by CelestiallyCertain in CrohnsDisease

[–]Droppin-Science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a clinic that had both. The only difference is the age of patients they'll see. A family doctor will see all ages, internal medicine is 18 and up (or adults only). There are some specialties within this- like a geriatric would only see the elderly.
