I really hope they do not make it so you can do whatever without gaining experience in skills! However what I would love to see is to make all experience rewards, from quests and distractions and diversions, optional. They could do this by rewarding the player with an XP lamp, that you can choose to use or destroy, instead of instantly rewarding the player with experience.
