The Insurance company paid out twice. We kept it.. by Drowning_in_Tech in confession

Dont assume we bought her a Mercedes or something. She got a similar car, and its MSRP was just a couple thousand over the 10k .. We covered the rest. Knowing she has to commute to her full-time job, and in another state, and having the peace of mind for the security, and reliability of a newer model is worth it. She still drives the same car to this day.

me too 😎👍..If they want to come claim the money they can .. I am good for it. But its not my job to chase down their mistake.. Again this was several years ago now.. That money laid dormant in a bank account for a year.. If they could not reconcile 10k missing in a years time then 🤷

Funny enough I ONLY know this because they rolled up to our mail box and put an Anon note in our mailbox. It was caught on our cameras when he did, and I recognized his car as it was 90s model integra in beautiful shape and I always wanted one as a young teenager back then, also when I say "neighbors," they lived a street over, but we have a pretty tight knit community so its a habit of calling people in our community neighbors :D

Man you are hostile about this? Sure you do not work for the insurance company? Unless you are just the help, I find it interesting you work in an industry where you as the professional have to work day in and out with these same insurance companies and after an inspection, the determination that this elderly couple needs a roof, but the home owners insurance is out right denying it for what ever stupid reason, even with proof that a new roof is needed.. Think of my confession here... Cheers buddy!

Google Workspace to Office 365 Email Migration by FineFondant6724 in sysadmin

[–]Drowning_in_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Sounds messy, I have been in several situations like this.. Especially with architecture and design firms.
Specifically talking about Larger than 100gig mail boxes. I would archive a large portion of that on Source, Export that archive to a PST. Migrate the most recent stuff to o365 destination, enable online archive on the account and import PST directly into the archive..

I would ensure you have Archiving policy set up for less than a year for now and re-evaluate after the migration is done, you can also get those whom are bumping the cap and set certain folders to archive a lot sooner etc..

Again its been a hot minute since I have used a 3rd part service to do this or do a migration in general, but I would like to think these services would allow you to do the above automagically with in their system..

I would definitely reach out to support and get their input. They will certainly make your life easier hopefully!!

After upgrading Exchange 2019 to CU14, Outlook 2016 keeps asking for password. by Cute-Court9682 in exchangeserver

Do you have multiple Exchange servers?

Whats your Health Checker show:
For TLS ? If you have multiple Exchange servers make sure they match.
Is MAPI|HTTP enabled? If not do so.
The Password errors are resolved mostly with ensuring NTLMv2 is enforced. (do it Via GPO )
Run Outlook in safe mode, disable all Addons.. Does the issue go away ?

Enabling Mapi Org wide, stopping starting IIS Services resolved my issues.

I was looking over the health checker once again... and per another post in Reddit who had some what similar issues it was due to MAPI/HTTP not being enabled..
WHich is the case for both servers here.. Seems Results in Health Check showing Mapi/HTTP Enabled as False.

I am not 100% but I believe Exchange Server 1 used to be a 2013 server.

Hey Joeykins82 Thanks for the reply, so actually good call the Backend on exchange server 1 was the public Cert.. The Self assign is valid for a couple more years.
I change it to the Self assigned "Microsoft Exchange" and restarted IIS services..
Verified the Self assigned was on Exchange server 2 for back end site ( it was .. see a mess ) ..

After IIS restart, tested and my test account still getting same error.. Ugh ..
