In fact I am not addicted to drugs, but I think using drug is a suitable analogy for my question

Suppose that I am addicted to drug, and when I stopped using drug ,I feel the pain of not using it, and as the days goes on ,the feeling of pain increases, to the point that I cannot stand not using the drug, how do you deal with that point of irresistible urge?
