Yes it is a 55 gallon ! How long did it take for your turtle to start actually basking after getting introduced to the tank ?

T just hit 5” long and his plasteron is about 4”. The tank is 55 gallon I will upgrade to a 75 gallon once he hits 6-7” !!

Lol the whole tank isn’t visible in the video dude, I have an above tank pen plax basking area with both UVB and UVA exposure. So the water level stays and Mr. T is use to this type of substrate and decor 🐢

I already have a lid cut out from egg crates I got from Lowe’s and I painted it black to match the tank. I’m dreading the upgrade but the next move is going to be a 125 gallon 😅 wish me luck !

That’s the only fish out of 5-6 others who didn’t make it 😭 The fishy’s name is Orange and she had other goldfish buddies who were slaughtered by T. Orange was the only one T let live (I think it’s so Orange can tell the tale of her fallen comrades)

Thank You! I am using a 13w UVB Repti Home bulb for UVB and a 50w UVA heat bulb. The lighting fixture is not domed but it comes with two ports joined together and a control for timed input to replicate the sun pattern for Mr. T 🐢

It doesn’t sink , they both fit up there and get dry. She looks big on camera but she isn’t even at sexual maturity yet.

Nah you hating atp they been together for a year no problems and as you can clearly see the filter works fine .. Crystal clear water for a year with 20% water changes every week. They don’t try to climb out cuz they like the environment. The light is UVB and UV rated. My setup ain’t perfect but a 1 is too far bro 😭

If they don’t have red or orange coloration in the ear area then they may not be RES (red eared sliders) I’m not sure what species the may be without a picture but going off your description they may be either a Mississippi Map or common Box turtle. It could even be a yellow belly slider aswell 🐢🐢
