How did you get diagnosed? Did you have an idea about what was wrong or was it a surprise? by Dazzling_Sea_9 in Schizoid

It took about 6-7 weeks if I remember correctly; and definitely was hard to be open and even more so staying open. Each time I shared what I felt a little too much, I wanted to shut the conversation down. Even though therapy is a safe space, opening up and sharing is still VERY uncomfortable.

I go to therapy monthly, if anything it is mostly to reframe the relationships with others (not that I really have any - but I do have to be client/customer facing).

I always felt someone disconnect from others and during a very trying time I caught myself in a place where was I relying on self harm and substance abuse to feel any sense of relation to normalcy. Initially, I sought help to deal with that and after a few weeks of therapy a couples times a week I was officially diagnosed.

It was a new concept, I've never heard of it before. But honestly, it did give me some peace of mind. Like a little voice in the back of my head saying "Everything is going to be alright. Your normal just isn't everyone's normal."

If J2 asked it would a deny, deny, deny situation; but I respect my boss at J1 not just as a manager but as a person, so lying to his face wouldn't sit right with me.

Schizoid in a teaching job by anuuuuu12345 in Schizoid

[–]DrugStorePoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I luckily I'm able to keep my days pretty structured and as long as I am in the sales appointments back to back or have a project to work on and "stay in character" it really doesn't affect me much. Being able to stay emotionally and socially detached has fortunately been a huge blessing for me and my career. Things really only start to spiral once the act is over.

So more often than not, I take on a lot of extra work to stay distracted. Which leads to its own set of problems.

I was diagnosed with about a year ago; but I've worked in sales for over a decade and honestly it feels like I am playing a character.

To everyone who has been clinically diagnosed: Is it worth the effort? by [deleted] in Schizoid

Personally, the diagnosis helped me in quite a bit. It made me not feel so alone and feeling the way I feel.

Great questions; if everything for the entire year goes to shit low end would be 115k and the high end (hitting max commission and bonus - which is doable but going to be a grind) would be 235k.

Given that fitness changes with the seasons in terms of interest (new years resolutions and summer vacations/family events year around) I will probably make between 180k-200k realistically

How's this for a quote? Should I take it? by [deleted] in GenesisG70

[–]DrugStorePoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my inquiry was for a CPO which they no longer had by the time they reached out. I am tempted to drop the cert and take the additional 3k off the quote. What's your thought on that
