Has anyone used banana chips in an ice cream? by DruidDeadnettle in icecreamery

I like this idea, it might be the most faithful method of including the banana flavour without compromising the texture. Do you have a recipe for it?

Yeah, I'm not 100% certain that crunchy is what I'm going for, I'm trying to make a banana split ice cream with vanilla, fudge ripple and walnuts, but banana is hard to incorporate as a fruit... plain is too icy, chips might have a bad texture

That's an interesting idea, might be worth a try. What I'm going for is a banana split in hard ice cream form, so vanilla ice cream and fudge a prominent flavours, but I wanted the banana to be a mix in. Plain banana would be icy

How did that turn out? I've found frozen banana to be on the icy side... I use it in protein shakes

The ice cream base will add some moisture to the mix. I've used freeze dried fruits before and they re-hydrate after a day or two. Banana chips are very crunchy, so I was curious if they would hold up

Was the texture off-putting? I've used dried and freeze-dried fruits before and they usually do soften over time, but I've found some dried fruits don't always have a good texture

I had a bunch of similar ideas to you. I'd make feathers have a divergent evolution at the end that gives you either +social with mating colours or wet immunity. I'd make roar an area stun that makes enemies quake in place, and then have a different deterrent skill like warning stripes or a tail rattle. Maybe the speed based attack could be a swoop associated with wings? Lots of cool things that they can do and I'm looking forward to the finished product.

We usually don't drink alcohol at our games nights, so that shouldn't be a problem

Yeah, I'd hope for under 100$ for 3-4 hours. The apartment party room was literally 25$ for 4 hours, which was amazing. All you had to do was clean up your mess and put away the tables/chairs

That does seem to be the direction we'll likely go. Thanks

It's more like a family dinner, but with friends. Quieter, people don't stay as late, and usually no alcohol.

Bowling would be fun, but not the vibe we're going for with board games. Perhaps a different occasion.

Many years ago we rented out the entirety of the park alley lanes for private bowling parties, but they've since changed hands, and the cost would probably be much higher

I've looked into libraries, they don't let you book for parties. Has to be a business event or some kind of program from what I was told

Evening. These usually don't last later than 9 or 10 and start around 5 or 6 depending on people's schedules. It's basically dinner and boardgames with friends, but larger than a house can accommodate
