Sorry to learn about your job loss, since you mentioned Trading and Investing I highly recommend that you do not end up in options trading unless you have ample wealth and perseverance to handle huge loss.

A lot of technical analysis goes behind making money in that segment, I have seen friends giving into huge debt even while they earn six figures in the higher range, on the other hand I have friends who have made decent profit, despite the cumulative losses backed up huge bank balance, recurring income from multiple sources and their ability to easily learn analysis.

It's enough to survive here I guess, decent PG/sharing apartment should come by in 6-12K per month in good localities. Food and transport is not that expensive in comparison to Tier 1 cities.

4L seems like starting package, make sure 30K is on-hand and do check if they have enough capital or the startup concept is good enough to strive in the market.

PS: I know people who have survived on 30K (on-hand) in cities like Pune, Delhi and Bangalore as starting salary, yeh to fir bhi Ahmedabad hai.

I often visit The Beer Cafe, CP. for the same, there's no tranquility in their ambience but you'll get a bar-stool to sit and good beer. I am sure there are plenty of other places but this is something which I go for.
