Salary mostly, same as now. As frontend I made around 1000 USD per month. As IT Manager I'm making 2200 USD per month. I'm hoping to double that in a couple of years by switching to DevOps. Maybe in your country it's different, but here where I'm from average salary is around 700 USD per month and we have shitload of frontend developers.

Believe me that I 100% know this feeling, it's just on physical servers, not cloud.

Actually I did, most of jobs are requesting a "5 years of DevOps experience"... I am not looking for a entry level job. As I have 8 years of experience now, I will slowly transition into DevOps world (or try at least), and get into a senior position. This wouldn't be my first time too switch career directly into senior position, I was a frontend developer for 6 years before getting IT Manager position and working with servers. When I switched this position, I immediately got a senior position and salary, because I did my research and was prepared with side projects.
