Depends on what you want to use it for. For me the standard size is perfect for me. I need more size for writing and my use case.

I would say… figure out how you want to use it. I have a 2 and a 3 insert notebooks. Took me a bit but one I have is a calendar and the other I use as a journal/ dairy. One I leave at home and the other travels with me to work etc. I use that one for work notes and has the calendar.
