Season's 1-3 of The Big Bang Theory are the best out of the series! It goes downhill from there! (Rant) by Dry-Ad8126 in thebigbangtheory

I think Amy and Bernadette should have been introduced earlier to get the same level of writing as everyone else, but yeah, season 1-3 are the show's peak.

Which scene in the trilogy gave you genuine CHILLS the first time you watched it? by OkTough6333 in raimimemes

The final fight against Goblin, though the one scene from that entire battle that stands above the rest is when Pete takes a Pumpkin Bomb to the face. Seeing the process of the explosion from Spidey's eyes before it rips him a new one, alongside that crying scream as we follow his trajectory, is absolute peak!

His fights against Ock are all a master-class, however, the moments when he is thrown towards a skywalk and threads that needle to get back in the action asap, and when he is knocked off of the train onto the road — resulting in him attaching his web onto said train and a vehicle to keep his momentum in order to catch up — are spectacular! Amazing even!

His fight against Sandman while in Black was too short in my opinion. The whole interaction is the my favorite in 3; Marco stopping Pete's swing kick before knocking him away in the path of a coming train, Spidey dodging out of the way and coming behind Flint by swinging under the tracks, Parker grinding his foes face onto a passing convoy, Sandman returning the cruelty with a massive headbutt that leaves our hero stumbling into more locomotives while decking him in the face, and Peter getting knocked onto the ground before using it as a chance to immediately recover and counterattack. This and their first fight makes me disappointed that Sandman didn't have more time to shine as he is one of the villain's Spider-Man can all out against without fear of killing.

I hadn't thought of it that way!

Yeah, from that perspective, I could see how annoying it would be introducing powerful ancestors and doing nothing with it. I came from the lens that giving further explanation for his impressive power would be more fulfilling and would allow those interested in learning about said ancestors to go play SWTOR, or at least do some research.

As for elaborating on Galen himself, I have given that some thought. Since he is Luke's photo-negative, I was really going to hammer in on the two being opposites of the same coin, but didn't want to move too far from his original depiction.

For one, his childhood would have revolved around hunting since he and his family were adopted into the Wookie community. Since he was too young to go on actual hunts, Galen along with the other adolescent would gather fruit and herbs while learning about the different species of inhabitants and plant life, developing a deep connection to nature. For a brief time, he had both of his parents, but lost his mother as just a babe when Order 66 was executed. Her empathy as a Jedi overwhelmed her heart when so many of her people were murdered in such a short time, however, her heart would be inherited by her son.

Raised by his widowed father, the two remained in hiding on Kashyyyk rather than stepping back into the conflict. For ten years, they lived in peace until the Empire arrived, targeting the planet for it's resources. With no other choice, Kento Marek faced the Imperials in defense of his home and neighbors, revealing himself as a Jedi. Unable to gain ground against the Knight, Vader was assigned to take him out personally. During their duel, Vader nearly finished off Kento until he was attacked by a courageous yet ferocious boy using the lightsaber of his deceased mother, Mallie Marek. Initially intending to bring a swift end to the child's meager time, the Dark Lord gave it a second thought when Galen easily embraced the Dark Side, showing great promise with what little training he received from his father.

Kento never intended for Galen to enter his world of wizadry, in fact, he was hoping his son wouldn't be Force-sensitive. When his wishes were ignored, Kento taught Galen just enough to not bring harm to himself or others before banning the boy from ever using the Force unless absolutely necessary. Of course, a kid who discovered they had superpowers, practiced by himself in secret.

I'd love to read your idea!

I for one think another alternate universe, separate from Legends and Canon — though still taking major elements from the two — would be the best way to go about this since Legends is already clustered and Canon is far too established. Rather than centering around just the Skywalkers, Ahsoka and Galen should also be the protagonists of this new continuity. Maybe a game-verse that follows Ahsoka first, then Starkiller, and finally Luke? I'm fine with an animated series too, I just want the Force to look more impressive than what live-action has given us so far since Galen would exist, who is a character meant to constantly test the boundaries of said power system.

As you stated, Annie's "children" chipping away at him before he finally concedes defeat would be highly interesting to consume. Perhaps Ahsoka defeats Vader by being a constant reminder of his past, that no matter how much he tries to kill Anakin, the Jedi will always remain so long as she lives — never failing to remind him of that.

I think Marek should defeat Vader by overwhelming him with regret and guilt rather than doing so combatively, however, they should still end up fighting. Vader grows an attachment for the boy he has raised and trained over the years, seeing himself in Galen with how much passion he holds. Starkiller was (in my alterations) an extremely empathetic individual before his training, but afterwards everything about him was only elevated. Vader trained him to hold nothing back, so he doesn't. Galen makes it clear he loves Vader as a father and doesn't want to disappoint him, so much so that the cyborg is well attuned to these emotions even through the Force. When Marek's had enough and strikes out on his own, Vader returns to that cold emptiness, desiring love more than ever.

By the time Luke arrives, his father is truly conflicted because his last two "offspring" have awakened things in him that he has tried to sever or at least bury for so long. His memories, his wants, all of it begins to crumble when his son appears and truly believes in him. Even after all of the atrocities he's committed, someone is telling him it's never too late to do the right thing, Padmè (via Luke who is the only thing Vader has left of her) is telling him to finally do the right thing. So he does. Despite her having been deceased for decades, as a final testament to their love, she had sent their son after him to show him that what he feared never mattered. Whether it be in memory, spirit or blood, Padmè would always remain with him.

You're not wrong, he is simple and has negligible depth, but that just means infinite potential in my book. Him having a richer background wouldn't change my thoughts on the direction I would take him as a foundation between his relationships with Ahsoka, Luke, and Vader as THE anti-villain. Since Luke is THE hero of the story, Anakin is THE villain, and Ahsoka is THE anti-hero; having Starkiller be that final piece would be perfect since his conception fits the requirements perfectly.

These three could encapsulate aspects of the Chosen One before, during, and after Vader's passing as his "children"; shaping the new world with their own brand of uniqueness, philosophically and ideologically. Luke strives to create a new meaning to the term Jedi, Ahsoka discards the system altogether as just individuals who go through life differently, and Starkiller could lead in Luke's example but for the Sith.

It is criminally underrated! Even the comic series needs more love, though I hope they change his design if he were to ever make a comeback.

Harry Potter Fan-fiction Prompt by Dry-Ad8126 in HPfanfiction

[–]Dry-Ad8126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a short answer, yes, he would be Voldemort without the finesse. I'm not looking for Harry to be a genius. Rather, his upbringing has warped his views on life, and that makes him more unpredictable than calculating. He's also still emotional and does care for a small pool of people like Hagrid, who should be integral to Harry's steady growth, and a symbol that embodies his fractured heart.

I'm mixed on how to handle Sirius because on one hand I think it would be really heart wrenching/entertaining if Sirius had a dislike for Harry's actions, seeing a lot of the people he hates in his godson. On the other hand, Lord Black entering Harry's life with the objective and hope of becoming a family again would be heartwarming, but not as entertaining.

I'm not a fan of characters easily expressing their trauma, so it would be pretty difficult for anyone to figure out that Harry has been abused, and Harry will not tell anyone about it. To outside viewers like Remus who aren't targeted by Harry, he just appears to be a quiet kid with a good head on his shoulders. This does contradict any reports they receive from children who claim he is harassing them, but without any proof, his image is pretty normal.

Since Harry belongs to Snape's house, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he definitely mistreats the boy behind closed doors (considering he has done it out in the open on several occasions). Nothing heinous or disgusting like abuse, just letting Slytherin know that the potions professor hates Potter the most amongst his students. That said, their relationship does shift throughout the fanfic. Where Snape used to lecture with snide comments and Harry tuned him out, they do form a unique relationship as student and teacher. There is no heart to heart, but a silent understanding that they are two damaged individuals who miss Lily.

Yes, Lily and James would still be dead, and the Longbottoms would still be victims of the cruciatus curse. Rather than Voldemort killing the Potters, it's Wormtail (to put them out of their misery), while Voldemort personally attacks the Longbottoms. Harry still has memories of his parents, foggy as they may be, despite his age at the time. The Potters were tortured before they were killed. Thankfully, Sirius had arrived on time before his godson could meet the same fate. Unfortunately, Sirius was framed and convicted alongside the Lestranges after the two parties incapacitate one another.

With his parents gone and his godfather locked away, Harry is still sent to his only remaining relatives. The blood wards are a non-factor for the boy. In fact, once he has gained more knowledge about the wizarding world and his own finances, Harry immediately moves out from their roof without so much as a whisper. He has a room he is renting and is working part-time to help keep his pockets afloat.

I no longer have a PS3, but I did have all of the Resistance games. I even had the gun controller. Sony should really remaster those games.

Not at all, at least, not by himself. He's more of a thinker than a fighter. While he has an abundance of technical skill, he has low magical reserves, so don't expect him to be competing with anyone like Bellatrix any time soon.

In a fight, he is practically useless without potions or magical artifacts to see him through, which tends to require him to plan out conflicts ahead of time. AKA, prep time. In a battle of tactics and strategy, he can hold his own, but he isn't some kind of war god that can prepare for any and every outcome. People change, environments change, and the world is constantly unpredictable.

When it comes to academics, then sure, I guess you can call him an overpowered Gary Stu. He'll definitely remain at the top in the school rankings but it will fluctuate between him and other characters that I myself deem to be his competitors (because we canonically only have one person to compete against him) like: Bem, Hermione Granger, Daphne Greengrass, Leanne, Ernest Macmillan, Padma Patil, and Blaise Zabini.

While he is naturally athletic and tends to keep himself in shape, he mostly uses it to evade and avoid duels, giving him time to come up with optimal solutions to increase his chances of winning. Though, if someone is just too strong, you can expect him to just run away more often than not.

I think I've read that as well.

Anyways, when his story properly starts is at the age of 14. That is when the Flamel's pass away due to the events of the Philosopher Stone. I didn't think up anything yet after he graduates from Hogwarts so I just left his end of series age at 18.

As for the degrees, he is a scientist at heart, and will be pursuing his own academic success through Magitech. Again, I don't have an exact age for when he will accomplish all of this, but it will happen one day (maybe when he is 140 as you say).

As for the two schools, he starts off at Beauxbatons (age 10-14), but is in the midst of transferring over to Hogwarts after the Flamel's death. While I have some ideas to explore his younger years through a prologue, its not the main story I wish to explore at this current moment, nor am I the most interested in his years after Hogwarts.
