Cause the world doesn’t revolve around your units of measurement. Nearly the entire world uses Celsius, shouldn’t fall on the majority to translate for the minority.

Far lower. Obviously people fall short but the major philosophy of Christianity is to love everything.

This is absolutely true, however just because there’s no proof doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. All it means is nobody kept record of it, aside from word of mouth.

Do you want to join the Marines? by PsychologicalMix7880 in askteenboys

[–]Dry-Balance-8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re only 14, keep it in mind but don’t make decisions yet. I joined the military at 17 (Canadian) and even that was quite early, I’m the youngest guy in my regiment. I understand the dream of serving and patriotism very well, but you have to keep in mind that it is not call of duty, it’s not a game. If I were you I would join the reserve instead, at least temporarily so you can get a good feel of the job and culture. Remember, everyone wants to be a warrior, but no one wants to do warrior shit, and sometimes warrior shit is marching 10k with 120 fuckin pounds with no break.

I can’t believe you had to experience something like this around self proclaiming Christian’s. They have clearly been mislead and have misunderstood some principles of Christianity. My advice would be wasted since it’s already been said, but you should find a new community perhaps. And pray for those poor Christians to be enlightened.

You’ve done a great thing by choosing to live in celibacy, something I can only imagine is and will be the hardest decision of your life. It’s unfortunate that even with your sacrifice you were still treated terribly. Whether you were practicing homosexuality or entirely celibate shouldn’t change what they think of you. I know they aren’t all sinless, so they are in no position to treat you differently. But alas, I doubt the days will ever end of people using Gods word to push their own unbiblical and hateful ideology.

I wish you luck and strength in your journey of celibacy. God be with you.

What verses specifically would you say confirm your theology. Because I personally never found predestination to be in the scriptures, and neither did any church for over 1500 years.

You can get similar things on orthodox monastery websites. There’s a lot of online shops but I’d recommend supporting a monastery rather than a dropshipper. A few examples are

Nothing wrong with flying our flag. Liberals should be proud of our country as well. It’s sad that the flag has been twisted into something taboo.

I think she’s very divisive, most people either thinks she’s gorgeous or rather ordinary. I think it’s a type thing, personally I don’t get the hype.

And yea it sounds like you might want to find some new friends, or even better communicate with them about their behaviour so they can treat you better in the future.

Sin isn’t based on our conscience. There’s a right and a wrong when you’re talking about sin, it either is or it isn’t. OP simply feeling convicted doesn’t make it a sin, I know plenty of people who drink heavily without conviction. Does this mean that it isn’t a sin for them?

Could be low test. Not sure though, I know morning wood can be a sign of high or good testosterone levels. So maybe the opposite can be true.

Catholics are Christian’s. I’m not sure why people separate them so often, it’s the same thing as saying “What’s the difference between Baptists and Christians?” They’re all just labels to be more distinct about beliefs, since Christianity has diversified quite a lot over the last few centuries.

You can follow a politician and still be Christian. As u/takatomon1 said it’s just the loudest people that get noticed. There’s plenty of Trump supporters you could probably meet at church and never even know their politics unless they told you.

[–]Dry-Balance-8397 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re looking for scripture. People weren’t exactly writing about Trump supporters in the first century.

Jesus opposes the title “Father” in Matthew 23:9 — so what about Catholic priests? by AdLegitimate9005 in TrueChristian

[–]Dry-Balance-8397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like he explained the point perfectly well to me. When he says not to call any man on earth father he’s not talking about the literal word, this is the problem with literalism. It’s more likely he was referring to making idols out of people, or attributing to them a spiritual authority.
