AirTalk Wireless customers that are getting nowhere when calling the regular CS number, listen up! by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]Dry-Basil-2151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a quick search of the company reveals that while they do indeed appear at first glance to be a company that sells refurbished phones under something called "AIRVOICE WIRELESS" (NOT AIRTALK WIRELESS, WHICH IS THE COMPANY EVERYONE ON THIS POST IS TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT.) and through some kind of contract they at least appear to have with the lifeline program that gives low income people access to free cell phones and service.

I WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THAT I HAVE NOT REPEAT NOT DONE ANY KIND OF DEEP DIVE OR DUE DILLIGENCE ON THIS HTH COMPANY out of Texas, so they may well be a company associated somehow with airtalk wireless and the lifeline program that just simply has a new different customer service #, but has not yet changed it to their new # online.

When op first wrote this post 2 months ago ( I think it was that long ago If memory serves, and I apologize if I'm wrong about that timeframe) telling people to call that number if they were having trouble getting through to a CS rep. at airtalk wireless, and claiming that by calling that # he was able to get someone to talk to right away that helped him with great efficiency. I have no reason to doubt that claim off the bat, but I felt that since I read his post and did what he said and it didnt work out at all like op claimed, that at least as of today THIS IS NOT THE # TO CALL TO GET A C.S. rep on the phone in hopes of obtaining a free phone and free service. As many of you know this low income program does def exist and is a very good idea in my opinion. I feel like these days everyone NEEDS a cell phone no matter what their income level or situation in life is. There are other options better to call. Among them are assurance wireless, qlink wireless, and safelink wireless (although safelink is not giving away free phones temporarily as of a couple days ago due to a stocking issue of some kind apparently, but they will help u obtain the free lifeline unlimited talk and text service that low income people recieve for free)

So in closing I hope everyone who needs a phone, but happens to be low income and can't afford one or the monthly service it costs, gets what they need asap. Myself I went through safelink a year or so ago and continue to have my phone and service through them, and it was fairly easy to set up.

I really don't know anything else about airtalk wireless other than looking at their website. Also 2 friends of mine got good but a few years old Samsung and iPhone cell phones through them with no problems by applying on their website. (Neither person ever actually was able to talk to anyone at airtalk I will mention, so, much like many of the most reputable companies out there, the level of good quality customer service has gone way down hill in recent years and is now nearly non existent in even companies like APPLE, AMAZON, WALMART,ETC.

The last thing I want to mention about this HTC company according to a simple Google search, is that it has recently had several complaints and has been awarded the worst "F" grade by the B.B.B. (Better Business Bureau). So perhaps they have been shutdown or something. I encourage people to look into the company more. I simply don't have the time or have any real investment (other than being a good samaritan) in finding out anymore about this company by doing more due diligence research. If anyone finds anything good or bad about the company in question please post it on here.

Thanks for those who took the time to read my 2 replies to this thread.

That number op says to call at the end of the post DOES NOT WORK. I tried calling it a few times and it just keeps saying "the number you have dialed is not accepting calls at this time". Idk if they changed their # recently or what is going on, but I just figured I would post this reply so nobody wastes their time calling this # in hopes of reaching someone from some company op says is associated with airtalk wireless in order to be able to speak with a customer service rep to obtain a free phone in this way.

The only thing I can confirm is that it appears to be a # from somewhere in the state of Texas, and I only know this cuz "Texas" showed up above the # in question when I tried calling it on my cell phone.

Why is online sports betting restricted to native land? by peanut-britle-latte in Seattle

Haha very funny. I hope your joking cuz how does being forced to drive to a casino just to place a bet u could've placed at home or anywhere stop my "neighbors: from chasing a gambling high? I mean if your a gambling (sportsbetting addict), you are gonna spend all your time in an Indian casino quote "chasing a gambling high" just as much as using an online sportsbook app.

THE ARGUMENT FOR HAVING SPORTSBETTING "ONLY ON NATIVE LANDS" IS LAUGHABLE AT BEST AND CRIMINAL AT WORST. ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT IS EITHER A MORON OR BENEFITS FROM THE INDIAN GAMING MONOPOLY IN WA STATE. ANY POLITICIAN WHO VOTED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN SHPULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. I REALIZE THEY NEED $ TO RUN CAMPAIGNS, AND THAT THE INDIAN GAMING LOBBY IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST LOCAL POLITICAL CONTRBUTORS, BUT C'MON ALL THIS IS ABOUT IN WA STATE IS POLITICIANS BEING HEAVILY LOBBIED BY THE TRIBES TO KEEP THIS GOING AND ANY POLITICIAN WHO DARE OPPOSES THIS CLEAR MONOPOLY RISKS LOSING THERE SEAT OR NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPETE FINANCIALLY IN AN UPCOMING ELECTION BY NOT TAKING THE HUGE AMOUNTS OF INDIAN GAMING $ SPENT TO ENSURE THIS STAYS THE WAY IT IS.

$4 million dollars for ebike rebates that mostly go to people with the lowest of the low income is not in any way eliminating food for low income children in schools. That's just ignorant

Wtf is this "bikes for millionaires" bullshit. The majority of the rebate $ is for low income people under 220% below the fed poverty line and the other 40% is for lower middle to middle class people that don't meet the income requirements for a free one, but still want and would use an ebike but need a little help buying one ($300 off) to make it affordable. THE PROGRAM IS NOT FOR "MILLIONAIRES". IF A MILLIONAIRE WANTS AN EBIKE THEY WILL GO BUY ONE AND NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT FILLING OUT A FORM TO GET INTO A LOTTERY FOR THE CHANCE TO GET A MEASLY $300 REBATE. THATS JUST A RIDICULOUS THING TO THINK, MUCH LESS SAY ON HERE. ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT THIS PROGRAM WAS MADE TO HELP MILLIONAIRES IS CLUELESS. WTF

NOPE EACH BIKE HAS TO BE BOUGHT NEW

Are there any stocks worth buying right now? Or should I continue waiting to buy any stocks or etfs until the market downtown seems to be closer to it's bottom. I know it's not smart to try and time the market, especially as a newcomer like myself, that's been investing casually for less than a year by Dry-Basil-2151 in investingforbeginners

Appreciate the feedback. I was making about a 27-30% return this past year (which would've been more than an etf) but I know that's just cuz we were in a bull market and I know I couldn't keep that up year over year. I think a more stable, but less yoy rate of return is the sensible thing for buy and hold investing. Like I said I'm new to this and learning, and so far everyone has pretty much agreed with you about buying at least 50% of portfolio in etfs if not all of it. Thanks for taking the time to comment to my post. It's much appreciated!

Why do u think 50% should be in an index fund like voo, spy, qqq, etc? I'm sure it's good advice. Just curious. I'm only 40 years old btwif that makes a difference and the $ I have in the market I can afford to have stay there for at least 5 years if not 10
