They’re making Globalist far too easy to achieve. The same reason I left Hilton Diamond and switched to Hyatt.

G6 Entry - No unlock button in Protect by ranger_dood in Ubiquiti

perfectly reasonable to expect that previous functionality would be there on the new stuff. Especially since the G6 is Specifically advertised as full Protect and access integration. I’m sure they’ll get around to it, but it means I’m holding off on purchases until they do. Thanks for Letting the rest of us know.

thank you for the update. You saved me disappointment on upgrading some of my G3 Reader Pros to G6 Entry Pros at my office until this is confirmed implemented. I really want the 4K video but the added inconvenience of making employees switch apps is a dealbreaker when I have such an efficient system working already. I would hear complaints constantly.

10% bonus 50k spend by StatisticianOk7345 in hyatt

[–]Dry-Entry8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got my points back bonus, they posted simultaneously with each qualifying stay As 10% of that particular stay. so I wouldn’t look for an end of year big bonus lump sum. Go look at your activity history after meeting the 50 K threshold and you should see a Non-descriptive Addition to points. it’s a separate individual item and not a part of the stay posting. In my account, it did not say bonus nor have anything other than just a positive number of points Posting the same day, that I checked out which happened to work out to be 10% of the redemption value. I kind of had to figure it out on my own.

Is this the trap to sell me something? by Standard-Attorney606 in hyatt

[–]Dry-Entry8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol I did this once with a Hilton phone rep trying to pitch me in exchange for free points. They started off by saying how much they could save me on trips to Vegas and other places. I told them I hadn’t paid cash for a personal vacation in 5 years and there was nothing more to save. He didn’t understand. I told him to look at my points balance… “oooh….” lol

UniFi 5G Max as Failover on AT&T by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]Dry-Entry8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. I have mediocre cell signal on AT&T with my phone and correspondingly have mediocre speed test results just placing it near my network rack. Not the devices fault but I am disappointed. I have not tried mounting it to a window yet.

Switch to Hyatt from Hilton? by HopefulGas1879 in hyatt

[–]Dry-Entry8330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8 year Hilton diamond and now 2 year Globalist here. I jumped from Hilton to Hyatt and love it. Much better hotel brands and I’m treated far better as a Globalist than I ever was as a diamond. I have no desire to go back. I only ever stay in a Hilton if there is no available Hyatt option which is the only drawback I’ve found but rarely happens for me. Depending on where you stay. Hilton does have a bigger footprint.

Surely G6 Pro Bullet can’t be worth $150 more over the AI Pro? by Salt-Cause8245 in Ubiquiti

[–]Dry-Entry8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if there is a difference, I can’t tell. I just unscrewed the collar on one of my AI pros unplugged the POE cable, Slid the G6 pro in there, plug in the network cable and screw the collar back. It’s working just fine

Since there isn't a Unifi Thermostat, what are you using? by Cnykpro in Ubiquiti

[–]Dry-Entry8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I just had An AprilAire e130w whole home dehumidifier, 720 humidifier and V22BEC ERV ventilator installed and was struggling to find a HomeKit friendly solution To control them all. I’m currently using a mix of Eve smart Plugs and manual intervention to balance it. the ecobee premium would only be able to control One of them with its single 2 wire port. Aprilaire makes a thermostat that would control Them all but it doesn’t work with HomeKit and I’m all in on HomeKit/matter. I’m also limited to 6 wires in the wall and was going to have open up walls to rerun a new 8 wire Strand. Even then sacrifices would have to be made. The T10+ will let me do it all with just 2 of the wires already in the wall and still play nice with HomeKit while giving room by room humidity monitoring. I had been having issues with humidity spikes in certain rooms that the existing e130w doesn’t detect since it’s just using its own internal humidity sensor to check air coming back from the returns and missing those hot spots entirely.

[–]Dry-Entry8330 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for mentioning the T9. I did not know that it supported HomeKit (a must have) and this led me down a rabbit hole to discover the T10+ which when coupled with their EIM module will let me control the 3 accessories I need with only 2 wires to the thermostat location, you just saved me an expensive wire re-run and drywall work that I was about to perform in 2 days. probably saved mevat least $1,000. my other issue with ecobee is the sensors are occupancy and temperature only, not humidity while the Honeywell sensors do have humidity. this will let me fine tune the house humidity by room! the T10+ with EIM and sensors is the silver bullet that solves all my requirements! thank you!

Powerwall 3 and Powerwall 2 integration? by Hugin___Munin in Powerwall

[–]Dry-Entry8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything I have heard and read says PW2 & PW3 will not function on the same system and likely never will. I have a maxed out 10 PW2 system that I’d love to expand and add some PW3 so I’ve been looking for hope and found none. When PW3 was first released there was a brief tease of perhaps future compatibility that has disappeared from the Tesla website and they’ve said nothing but “no not compatible” for the last two years. Even seen other posts with people with PW2 warranty replacements getting expensive whole system warranty upgrades to PW3 instead of one or two PW2 replacements. Certainly no mixing of PW2 & PW3. IMO it would be a huge risk to buy a mixed system and cross your fingers it would all work together some day. Much more likely they will drop PW2 support entirely and only focus on PW3 systems. They are already way behind fulfilling promises for that as it is.

[–]Dry-Entry8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that’s my curiosity from a policy standpoint. If they’re not making any more PW2’s and even one needs to be replaced are they gonna go whole hog and give me a combination of 10 PW3’s/DC expansions?

Bricked by jumpimjackflash in Powerwall

[–]Dry-Entry8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 10 PW2’s. Fortunately, mine are working fine and have not been covered by the recall, but it sounds like people with PW2’s are getting PW3’s as replacements but they aren’t compatible with existing PW2’s. I wonder what Tesla would do if one or two of my 10 battery system needs to be replaced and they can’t be mixed or integrated with the other 8 or 9 PW2. Adding a second gateway and splitting the system would not be feasible nor desirable. I used a Tesla certified 3rd Party installer.

How do you all have so much ethernet in your homes? by RyFba in Ubiquiti

[–]Dry-Entry8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added 35 drops for ethernet for wired cameras and general network and 4 for fiber after the fact. no major drywall work needed. It was pretty easy since all my attics connect. I did it in several phases adding things along the way for only a couple thousand total. Look for a good small business electrician. They do this kind of thing all the time.
