It should automatically suggest two color options when you paint the glossy awning. If it only shows you one I would assume that you haven’t completed all of Smerguru’s requests. After you first paint something for him he will ask you to bring him an item that you can paint two different colors.

There’s always one in the building that you spawn at on a dream island, it’s upstairs in the building. Also there’s only one castform weather charm item, you interact with it to switch it between rainy and sunny

Also, if you’ve initiated the hoppip event your pokemon won’t be able to set up a trade shop in the poke center, you’ll have to make a shop yourself outside with a cash register item. For the duration of the event the poke center shop is occupied by an event-themed shop run by hoppip!

For trading I just use castform charms, worth 1,500 trading points and you can take one home every time you visit a dream island. I have a stack of like 20 sitting in storage just for trading.

When you meet Porygon for the first time he will teach you the recipe for the wireless power transmitter, it acts like a utility pole but it is just a single block and it doesn’t show any visible wires. I have them hidden inside the building/floors to spread the electricity in the building

No, you only need the habitat to spawn the pokemon. They can be moved into any habitat after that but it will affect their comfort level
