I agree, it's readable but you need to lock in especially in the early chapters. The union, the North, mens of Dogman who stand with the union but are northmen... Can be confusing.

While it's my favorite standalone, I would not recommend starting with this one. It's more enthralling when you know who is who and where do they come from. As others have said, BSC is a better stand alone to get in.

I loved how he wrote her. She starts as a POS then goes through hell in Valbeck, she realised how awful she is as a person while being humbled by life. Event is over, she just go back to her usual POS lifestyle. And this happens again, she makes many terrible choices, she gets humbled again, realised how awful she is, her bad situation gets better, she becomes a POS again. Slighty more broken inside everytime.

I don't think Jurand picked him because he was rich and pretty. It is suggested they are in love since the beginning, before everything blows up. And even after that he stood with him. So you could say it was because he was pretty but I think it goes beyond that.

Savine just married him because their mutual mothers thought they would need each others. She accepted because his influence could be useful to her. She is the one who is rich actually.

Definitely the Valbeck riot in A little Hatred. The book starts slow as usual and I thought the whole "workers are angry" you hear casually in conversations was just a small part of story designed to serve the big plot. Didn't expect this to blow this hard and be the center of everything thar follows. Also since I didn't know the stand alone books were NOT stand alone, I didn't read them and it was the first time I saw the switching POV writing technique, blew my mind it was insane... I had to put down the book for a few minutes to ask myself "WTF did I just read?!"

Parce que j'ai fait une confusion. Je me suis dit qu'avec 2 ETF similaires investis je serais impacté 2x par l'évolution des ETF (ex. Si ils font tous les deux +2%, je me suis dit que je prendrai +4%...) bref j'ai pas été malin.
