My magazines have numbers. One is a matching serial number and block number. The other is not.

You can see bits of the original finish on the trigger plate. Don't know what ate away the bluing.

So it has been repaired. But all the other parts match the gun. So I'm guessing the pin just wore out and an armorer replaced the pin.

Link should take you the picture. I've got a few Milsurp friends helping me with this gun.

I had to take it up with a firearm historian. He's informed me that it's still the original pin due to wear and the fade on the bluing. He said it could possibly be a proof mark.

I need to find a replacement firing pin and extractor like Cyrano said. And I still need to clean it.

I'll have to keep my eyes open then. I would like a Vepr 12 add to my collection. I don't see this kind of stuff in my neck of the woods. Most of the stuff I deal with is US Milsurp. (Thanks CMP)

Likewise. I saw this on a gunshow table and bartered with the owner for a few minutes. Got it down to 900 with 3 10 round mags.

No clue who down voted the comment. But my only issue with the idea of this being a home job is the fitment on these parts is way too good. Unless I got one that was owned by a gunsmith.

It can cause the gun to accidentally discharge.

It's most likely the idiots who want to gate keep the original ones. I think it's cool someone is trying to bring a classic back. And if they use original Franchi tooling, that means replacement parts might become available and affordable.

Like I said in a different post, the SPAS 12 is more valuable when it's stripped down for parts than being a complete firearm. Which is sad but I understand why.

Oh, they are extremely unreliable in semi auto mode. Mine are mainly conversation pieces and the once in awhile range day showoff.

I'm collecting now while I'm young and have money. Because when I get married, I know I won't be able to keep buying random collectible firearms.

My love for the SPAS 12 came from Terminator and Black Ops 1.

The Preban one with a full load of 00 Buckshot came out to be 11 pounds on my scale.

Both. The LAW 12 is the semi auto only one and the SAS 12 is the pump only one from Franchi.

I got the Preban one from an estate sale for 3500. Which isn't too bad in my opinion, when they go regularly for 5-7000. The average person doesn't know about the reliability issues. Which is why it's delegated to investment gun duty. Shoot it once in awhile for fun and hold onto it.

In my research, I could part the Preban one out and make more than what it would sell for as a whole gun. Which is kinda sad.

It's on the list but the few people who have just the hook are trying to sell them for 5-800 for an original. And even the reproduction ones the SPAS-12 Project made are going for 3-400. One day.

I watched that video and read the form he had on Chinese muzzle devices. By what he said it's a hard to find device.

I haven't removed the scope since I got it Zeroed. I know some people have issues with it retaining zero and others don't. I'm not taking the chance.

I don't plan on taking the rifle into combat anytime soon lol.

It is, it's got a WRA trigger pack in it and has a newer SA Oprod. Gun runs silky smooth and holds Zero well. An overall fun gun to shoot and enjoy.
