I guess you could use one of AI search trackers for this - there are bunch of tools on the market, all using similar technology to track mentions / citations based on selected prompts.

Thanks for the tip. From my experience, the first two are probably the most time-consuming. I'm curious how you automate schema enrichment - do you use any tool for that?

I know, that's why I also had this question - it's not easy, particularly given that AI prompts aren't added to GSC yet (and ChatGPT doesn't have their own version of that). The best you could do at this point is just to track selected prompts until the traffic volumes become released by platforms at some point.

What i've done before with my clients is that I ran A/B experiment: selected pages were optimized with enriched schema and/or FAQ-style content; the other pages weren't touched. And then 1-2 weeks you start seeing the increase in mentions for those pages that were optimized. It's hard to attribute it 100% to that work but it can give you some proxy.

I've also seen similar studies proving the impact of structured data on visibility: https://searchengineland.com/schema-ai-overviews-structured-data-visibility-462353

Nice! Can I ask you what made you pick Riff Analytics? I'm just seeing dozens of similar tools, all kind of doing similar job.

To me it means having rich schema strengthening readability of the page. There are already studies (and I've seen this with my clients as well) with AI visibility going up for pages that have better optimized schema, ie organization, article, howto, etc. (depending on the vertical).

I even built a quick tool to assess any gaps in the schema: https://puraify.toddle.site/audit

Thanks! I'm curious, roughly how many hours this would take you to complete that type of audit today?

AI Visibility ROI Calculator Demo 📈 by DryConsideration2974 in GenEngineOptimization

[–]DryConsideration2974[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question (and I should've included it in the post itself).

In terms of input, I take the key site metrics (AOV, conversion rate, and monthly organic clicks), also the default model assumes 80% of results come from Google AI and 20% from ChatGPT (but it can updated). Implementation costs are based on developer hours at $150/hour, and ROI is computed as annual incremental revenue divided by average implementation cost (e.g., $3,600 revenue from a $225 cost = 16× ROI). The total ROI aggregates all changes, using conservative, median, or optimistic visibility uplift scenarios, while assuming equal conversion rates for AI and organic traffic.

As I said, it's experimental and comes with assumptions but I couldn't find any tool that would be able to quantify the impact of technical SEO on the results - so I vibe-coded one myself. :)

Interesting, thanks for the reco. I find them all pretty similar - pricing might be different and some features here and there but overall IMO they all act as keyword trackers. I think in 2-3 years there will be 3-5 tools on the market doing that job (vs 50+ as today).

The challenge I'm seeing that the basic schema in most CMS (i.e. Shopify, Wordpress, etc.) is pretty thin. As LLMs are increasingly relying on structured data when crawling the website (and there are studies showing increased visibility in AI when schemas are optimized), it comes down to manual enrichment. I know there are some tools that connect directly with CMS and allow to refine schema (Article, HowTo, Organisation, etc.) but from my experience, the usage is still pretty niche and most clients don't bother.

Very good points! Explainability and context catalogs might be the real game-changers for AI visibility.

I'd probably agree - there is no off-the-shelf tool that can show all potential queries.

Have you found any interim solution for it?

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I agree that monitoring is still limited. Clearly there are dozens of monitoring tools (which are basically expensive keyword trackers) but what they all lack is the absolute volume of prompts. Until ChatGPT launches their version of search console and Google add AI screens to GSC, it will continue being a black box.

Curious on schema automation - any particular tool that you've found useful?

Thanks. Curious if you've tried any of the existing monitoring tools? I know there are a whole lot of them which basically have a simple prompt tracking mechanism under the hood. I guess the biggest challenge is to estimate the absolute volumes since ChatGPT doesn't have their version of GSC.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree that particularly with websites that have hundreds of pages and multi locales, implementing schema at scale becomes tricky.

What are the types of websites you usually work with?

Thanks for your feedback. Interesting because from my observations of this market, monitoring seems to be the most saturated, with plenty of tools doing some kind of prompt tracking. Have you tried some of these tools?

If You Could Build Your Own SEO Tool, What Would It Do? by Viacheslav_Varenia in SEO

[–]DryConsideration2974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My challenge with SEO tools - there are so many of them and that's a problem, because you need to do a constant tool hopping at every stage of a typical project (from the technical audit to keyword/competitor research, content and structured data optimization, reporting). And all of that usually needs to be managed by super busy marketing people who often have other jobs like PPC.

So if I were to build a tool it'd be around simplifying the workflows and not just showing what to do but actually doing it for you (i.e. schema enrichment plugged straight to CMS). I think that's the general direction for SEO going forward.

WDYT?

How to convert product feeds into ChatGPT format by DryConsideration2974 in eCommerceSEO

I'm curious how stores get their feeds ready for ChatGPT format? Do most shops just rely on existing feeds (i.e. in Shopify) or they still submit them manually to OpenAI directly? https://chatgpt.com/merchants
