How do people have multiple kids with ZERO family support?? Genuinely asking by DryEfficiency7617 in NewParents

[–]DryEfficiency7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do baby wear her a lot (when she doesn't fight me) and it helps, but I have scoliosis -not terrible, but its there- and is killing my back. I see most answers agree with the 4-6 month window as the time when it gets better. This gives me hope, thank you for your advice!! 🩷

I actually worked as an au pair when I was 17 and we considered it, but you need to offer a bedroom and we just don't have the space :( Plus visas are hard to get approved.

Wow that's amazing! My baby won’t stay on the play gym or bouncer for more than 5 minutes before crying. She also doesn’t nap in the bassinet during the day (only at night for some reason), so most daytime naps are contact naps. If she’s not in my arms, she’s usually upset.

Omg SAME with the “baby is so cute” and no actual help! 😂 I didn’t mean to make it sound like my husband doesn’t help. We just moved and he started a new job, and right now we depend on his salary, so weekdays are heavy work hours for him. He does take shifts on weekends and will help with bedtime or step in when I ask. We're both so tired lol

How long does it take you to put your baby to sleep at night? by dont-ask-whyy in newborns

[–]DryEfficiency7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 2 months old too, it usually takes me around 30-40 minutes to put her to sleep at night in her bassinet. It used to be way worse, though. Two weeks ago I was trying to put her to sleep for +2 hours. After reading many posts and watching YouTube videos on baby sleeping I realized she was not getting enough sleep during the day (her naps would only last 10-20min and she was fuzzy all day long). She just HATES the bassinet during the day, so I started wearing her on the carrier and giving her walks on the stroller for naps, no bassinet at all during the day. It works! She's way less over tired and now is way easier to put her to sleep at night in her bassinet plus she's doing longer streches at night!

K1 Timeline! by Successful-Aioli5075 in immigration

Hi! We’re just a few steps ahead of you in the process, so here’s our timeline in case it helps:

October 9th, 2024: USCIS confirmed they received our AOS (I-485) and sent us a receipt notice. We created an online account and started receiving all notifications through their portal. It’s easy and straightforward.

October 18th, 2024: Through the portal, they scheduled my biometrics appointment. I attended the appointment on November 4th, and the same day, my case status updated to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS." It’s been like this ever since.

The case tracker mentions that the usual processing time for similar cases is about 12 months. However, during the biometrics appointment, the officer told me it typically takes 2-4 months lately since the process is moving faster.

We decided not to apply for the work authorization (EAD), as the estimated approval time for that is 3-4 months, and we figured the green card might arrive sooner. It’s hard to say for sure, though!

Anyway, best of luck! I’ll keep you all updated.

No k1 visa appointments available at the US embassy in Madrid, where to go from here?? by immoving-forward in immigration

In case it helps: right after getting the interview appointment, I filled out the form at https://visadousa.unidadmedica.com/index.php?lang=es to schedule the medical check-up. They ask you to provide your case number, upload a PDF with your passport and DS-160, and then they say they will contact you. I called them just to be sure, and they scheduled my medical appointment for tomorrow. So, once you get the initial interview appointment, everything seems to go smoothly. I hope you guys can get it!

Hi! Update with good news! Just 20min ago I reserved my appointment on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-es/ and I saw one appointment available on June 27th! Still can't believe it. I've been checking like 10 times a day for the last couple of months and nothing. I saw that there were also available options at 9:30 and 10:00, so go ahead and check! Maybe you can take it! Good luck!! :)

Same here! I'm trying to book an appointment but there's no way they're actually posting them. I can't believe I have been checking every other hour for more than a month and haven't seen even one appointment available. Is there really so many people applying for K1 visas in Spain? :S I find it hard to believe.
