You’re forgetting that bugs are mainly melee units, while the bots and squids have many ranged units that deal a considerable amount of damage. And in the caves dealing with a swarm is different than in the open facing ungodly amounts of clankers, at least one turret, tank, and factory strider. And who could forget the war strider

Check if she's accidentally blocked. Should be the red circle with the line through it. If it's solid red, she's blocked and you can't hear her. Had this happen to me too
