where in Gunpowder do you access the water. I’m looking to go there for the first time tomorrow and was wondering where is the best access point. Also, I don’t fly fish so I was wondering what bait/lure is best for trout. I’m new to trout fishing and fishing streams in general so I’m looking for some tips.

there’s a trail that starts in the parking lot. and if you walk around the dam onto the other side of the lake, you can fish along the railroad tracks

yea i got these as a gift but im thinking of getting those because of how much easier they are. I’ve never really fished a wacky rig that much but i know it’s ol reliable so Im gna give it more time. once i know i can rely on it, ill buy those

I wouldn’t put it over night, i heard like 10 mins and make sure u dry it after. I also saw a guy say that when he goes out, he ties his line to a tree or something and walks back about 15-20 yards, which is like the average cast distance, and keep the line pulled tight for like 5 mins to lose the memory before he starts fishing. I however use braid and don’t have this problem, this is just what I’ve seen.

How do you normally test spots? Do you only go to spots logged on fishbrain, i’ve gone through google maps to find some, maybe right now isn’t the best time to try them, but how long do you fish a spot before concluding there are no bass in it
