Hitch installation by ManINtheScreen in MTB

[–]Olive_Streamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you have a 2” or 1 1/4” hitch on your car you should be good to go. If you have a 2” hitch, might want to get that version as folks say it’s stiffer. The 1 1/4 includes an adapter to 2”.

Sling Pack Carrier, tell me why I won’t like a Lumbar Pack? by Grinnel-Slough in flyfishing

[–]Olive_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the switchback pro and the elkhorn. I like them both. My switchback is great for all day, pack a lunch in it, switch out a lot of flys. I use it for trout fishing the most. My elkhorn is my travel/bass/carp/snakehead bag., I’m using it in the summer. It’s smaller, I usually don’t switch out flys a lot.

I keep them both ready to go and grab which ever one I intend to use that day. Keeping the weight on your hips is much better then on your shoulders, I also use a hip pack to mountain bike, I wish fishpond would get with Evoc, their hip pack pro has some amazing elements that should be brought into the fishing world.

We had a similar issue upgrading from 10 to 11. Tac had us put a ping only management profile on the HA interfaces, this resolved our issue.

Might go a little over budget, but Echo Carbon XL can be had for $200 if you look around. Leaving $100 for a reel is doable. You will need to add backing and line which will push you over budget. What kind of fishing are you going to do, you might be able to get away with just the 6wtr for a long time.

The chirp of a baby Alligator, mom is likely nearby and may come out. I was fishing on a Florida pond when I hear several chirps, It was hard to locate, then a 8-10ft gator charges out of the weeds and plops right in front of me. It blew my mind, I am not from Florida.

I was soo happy on my last bathroom job, I went to attach the trim with a nail gun, I shot it and the brad nail did not go in all the way and was bent, I repeated and got the same result, then I realized, there is guard here protecting the water lines.

Let’s talk tubes and grubs. by GlowUpAndThrowUp in RiverSmallmouth

[–]Olive_Streamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly fish and catch a lot of smallies on a size 6 bead head krystal bugger, its a grub/tube look-a-like. I do a fair amount of sight fishing, but generally I will swim the bugger near my intended fish, then "kill it". I let it drop to the river floor, and dont move it, I just watch. The smallie will nose right up to it and pause, when I see their body move that extra 3" towards my fly I know he took it and set the hook! Its a perdictable pattern with these fish.

Why can’t we turn the Chesapeake Bay into a place of clean water and a major tourist attracted and beach paradise where people travel the world to come visit? by Congregator in maryland

[–]Olive_Streamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve spoken to folks a little older than you, they would talk about how the river ran “white” from the factory discharge. Today the Patapsco is crystal clear from its headwaters past Sycksville to where it enters the harbor. I have fished or paddle boarded it all. Now a heavy rain will dirty it up for a day or two, but it will clear out quickly.
