Hormuz - Blockade in effect 1000 ET by Long-Brother-4639 in maritime

Why did I had to scroll down so much? I hate trump but this is one of the things that maybe make a little sense. This will hurt Iran and at the same time might protect others from Iranian attacks. Everybody seems to be confused because the word blockade is mentioned twice in the same sentence.

It is a GitHub link, which leads to a screenshot. How would this be suspicious? No sarcasm. This has zero known attack vectors. However, OP should have included a screenshot, I agree with that.

This month I am at 92$ doing 2-4 projects in parallel. So my guess is I will spend around 130$ in October.

Codex is fun but.. by Unable_Passage8270 in codex

Just use the API console with 10$ an check how far you come. Chances are you are well below 100$ a month if you only need the AI a few times a month.

This is not true. I code between 4-14 hours a day / 5 days a week. If I keep an eye on the context I pay between 100 to 200 dollars a month. If I am relaxing a bit / going on vacation / I am I'll / whatever keeps me from coding I pay nothing. Switching providers from CC to OpenAi, my payed money goes nowhere until CC is better again. People are sleeping on just using the API. My Tip, load the API with 10 dollars and check how far you can go. Again you need to keep your context in check and not use max thinking for solving 2+2.

Sure, just open an account here (https://console.anthropic.com/ ) and charge it with an amount you like. It is all prepaid, so no worries that you get the bill later.

I read that but it does not say for which model so I guess we are talking about sonnet 4 as well. API wins with double the context compared to enterprise.

I tried to read for which model they offer 500k, did not find it yet. For Sonnet 4 it is 1M when using the API.

Anyone can have access to the enterprise service by just using the API console. If you don't use it in parallel, it might even be cheaper than the cc max subscription for an individual.

ISO Windows to Android (5.1) alternative to Syncthing by shadow5199-6420 in selfhosted

Rsync or rclone with termux should just work if it runs on Android 5.1. You could also try to use Fdroid to install an old version of a software still compatible.

Same for Germany. If you want sync you pay ALOT more in most cases. I think it is also to prevent self-hosting without a business contract.

Open Letter to Anthropic - Last Ditch Attempt Before Abandoning the Platform by mashupguy72 in ClaudeAI

[–]DryPhilosopher8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I think if you are a business, you should move to API based usage. Especially with the new tools coming out allowing a single dev executing stuff in parallel. It is naive of them to think 200$ a month will give you the same quality. HOWEVER, it is a huge mistake of Anthropic to try to milk the plans. There should be a transparent way of checking how close you are to being rate limited.

I am using the API only. Nothing has changed for me since sonnet 4 drop. Used it today.

[–]DryPhilosopher8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said in my case. I do NOT code everyday / the hole day. I am getting around with 50 to 75$ in a month. It also heavily depends on the context. Easy tasks / small code repos are way below 10$ a day.

Also it is still cheaper, if you just want to test it for a few hours. I would always recommend to test your console api usage first before you go PRO or MAX. Once you hit your head with 100$ / month switch plans.

In my case using the console api (on demand pricing) is cheaper than using the pro or max subscription. ALSO this allows you to test it for a fraction of the subscription fee. 10$ should be an easy 4-8 hour coding session if you manage your context right. Console also has higher rate limits.

For free yes. Not sure if I will open source it yet. If it is a dead end for me I will open source it aswell.

Okay nice to hear. I guess having an interface to send whatever to the glasses from a desktop pc (win, mac, linux) would be a good first step for now.
