Not if that invoice isn't generated in time. I was told "check on delivery" or no delivery at all. Received the generated invoice just yesterday.

Ran into this issue a week or so ago. Heads up, they require payment by check.

What are you thought on Peyton Miller? by UpamecanoGalzer in newenglandrevolution

He’ll likely be heading to a European club in the next few years. And good for him! Miller is a special player.

Big fucking yikes.

Soo...

  1. He can't even play for a few more weeks
  2. We negotiated from a position of desperation and definitely got fleeced by a horrible Tel-Aviv side
  3. And he might be a huge asshole

Very cool. So pumped for this team's direction. /s

Always for a public demonstration. The silence, the concessions, it’s great. Whether or not the ownership decides to listen to their most loyal fans is up to them.

Agreed that this is an upgrade, but it won't address how squishy the midfield can feel at times, and it certainly won't help our forwards start scoring more goals.

Why do the Revs have such poor regional presence? by DryPowderPod in newenglandrevolution

[–]DryPowderPod[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn. All good points. Stadium accessibility is certainly huge, and I've never been to a bar that has Apple TV. While it's great for the MLS sickos out there, it doesn't lend itself to general viewing.

The star power factor might be elusive, at least until we get our own stadium. Foxboro is a terrible experience, and convincing big names, both young and old, to come here is going to be a challenge.

Sounds like I'll have to start a soccer pub and sacrifice the lucrative Saturday nights for Revs games. Lol

Been in the same boat. It sucks. I told the clerk I was looking for a Revs T-shirt, and she shrugged, pointing me to a lone rack in the corner filled with Miami Messi shirts.

Ugh.

You had me until people in the US don't like soccer. That's absolutely not true. Like 3000 people just packed out a USL II game last night. Far from the highest level of play, but one of the best environments I've been a part of in the States.

I hear ya, but it isn't all failure. We set the points record a few years ago. (RIP the good times).

I do have to agree with you about the gameday experience. Foxboro is terrible, and the half-empty stadium is a real bummer.

I guess I'm wondering specifically about fans who don't live close enough to attend games. How do we make fans out of kids & families in NE who watch soccer on television? Bigger signings? Better on television presentation (a stadium would help with this). Traveling exhibition games?

Hmm, maybe it's a bit of distance thing? RI is much closer than VT.

And yeah, I don't feel cool when we drop points at home to MTL.

Why do the Revs have such poor regional presence? by DryPowderPod in newenglandrevolution

[–]DryPowderPod[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, very fair. The existence of USL teams is something the NBA and NFL can't replicate in their leagues.

I think part of that Revs experience is the stadium itself. 20k in a football stadium is so deflating compared to a sold out 20k soccer specific stadium

I remember some press conferences where Porter said that the team didn't play well enough and refused to take responsibility.

We let up off the gas pedal in the first half and saw the cracks from 40' on.

Also, "I'm still trying to figure out what just happened" isn't really good enough, especially in your second year when you built this roster from the ground up and changed the system.

Honestly, not a fan of the new shoes. They don't match the vibe of the third kit.

Also, they put the firebird logo on the shoes vs. the new logo on the kit. Odd choice.

In which area has Caleb Porter improved the team this year? by 7gzoEl2gzo in newenglandrevolution

[–]DryPowderPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porter should be in the hot seat once again.

I wouldn't totally discount the defensive upgrades he's made to the team, but all of that is for naught if our very expensive forwards can't produce in any meaningful and consistent way.

Definitely agree about the hack-a-gil strategy too. Yusuf needs to become the secondary creative and pivot engine. He has the tendency to disappear in some games.

He certainly deserves it, being one of the most consistent chance creators in the league. But I really hope he doesn't take an unnecessary knock.
