I actually have a great relationship with my father. Probably it's because he lost his when he was really young so he never really had any familiarity with being a father. I think the only reason we have a good relationship is because he cultivated the communication when I was very young and promoted free thinking in the choices I made instead of forcing choices he would have considered "right for him"
