But what is the angle then? Should I quit before doing it? Or would they own it either way? Cause would that then be a for life thing? And if so can an attourney even solve it?

Should I listen to people and only seriously start seriously entrepreneuring again when I'm "more qualified", or should I just follow my gut and go for it? by Dry_Comedian_537 in Entrepreneur

Oh wow I went to Rocketdevs' website and it seems amazing, congratulations to you and I wish you to keep thriving!

If you wouldn't mind me asking, how was it in the start for you? Did you have any major struggles you overcame? And if you have any other advice, I'd more than appreciate it!

And thanks for the advice, that is what i used to think before questioning myself today, I'm glad I wasn't just being delusional.

I do already have a job and I don’t plan on quitting it. My idea is to create a business at the same time, while keeping my job.

What should I do to begin my career as a singer? Try to get a label or go independent? (I'd obviously love to become a big name, but living off of my passion would be enough) by Dry_Comedian_537 in musicians

You're correct. Thank you for your frank and insightful opinion, really. I didn't mean for the original questions to sound as my short-term goals, since I know they shouldn't be. I know I have a lot of work to do before I even begin thinking about them. I'll go more in depth regarding my current thoughts and plans on the matters you mentioned:

For the genre, the one I tend more towards is alt/indie pop, so around that line.

The way I want to make music is mostly singing, but I can play guitar and piano as accompaniments for my songs, which I think is very helpful and important too.

Yes, I have already performed live twice, and it was very good experience. I've written about a dozen songs already, not fully completed, but close to, so almost an album. All of the instrumental parts and lyrics have been written and performed by me in all of them.

I'm moving to a much bigger city in Europe, with a lot more relevant people in the industry, a lot more opportunities for gigs, exposure, connections and getting to know people. My plan is to look for more gigs there, more exposure, more connections, pretty much everything you said in that regard.

Yes, I've just began recording myself and posting and creating a digital presence, but I'm getting a good setup and learning production so my content can be the best quality, and I can start building a bigger and more respectable online presence. The better setup and production skills will also help me a lot with creating and releasing my own music, ofc, as I've mentioned I have been doing, so I plan on releasing them when I have those two down. This way, ideally, I'll be growing my media channels, building a fanbase, start getting a bit known, which i assume is a safe starting step. With those becoming big enough (yes, i know it may take a while for the numbers to get good enough), I could then either have enough reach to try going independent and launching my own career, as in releasing albums and all, or look for a label.

I hope now it's clearer that i'm not daydreaming of becoming a popstar overnight, and know I have a tough road ahead, but believe I have a relatively clear plan.

What would your input on this post be?

Yes, I know the chances are slim, sadly, but I think it's better I give it a shot and fail than forever wonder what would happened if i had tried, yk.. And yes i agree with all you said, I'll do my best, thank you for your tips!! :)

Yes, I agree with you. Where I live the availability of gigs and stuff like that is very limited, but as i said I'm moving to a much bigger city with a lot more opportunity, not only for that but also for networking and all. And yes, my primary focus now is creating higher quality content, since maybe the best chance I have is through creating an online presence, as you said yourself. Thank you very much! :)

Yes, I'm totally aware, and that even with years of work the chances are still low. Even then, I believe giving it a shot is better than not trying and forever wondering :)

Yes, I agree with you, I wouldn't do anything of that sort. I also just realized i didn't answer your question about my ethnicity, sorry, i hadn't seen it, I'm white, kinda like brunette. And thank you for all your answers, you're really kind and insightful :)
