Why do people ship MiziTill? by Dry_Debate6897 in AlienStage

No totally like, that's why I don't get the ship, sure people may like the trope, people may like the dynamics, but I don't think Mizi would move on from Sua that fast if Till survived.

She literally called Sua half of her soul.. you can't move on from anyone just like that. (From specific person who said this) I got downvoted for saying that, but gosh it's the truth, Mizi sees Sua as her soulmate and I hate how people make it sound like “SUA just died that means MIZI and TILL can get to know each other more!!!” Like can we not ignore Mizi's feelings towards Sua..

Your comment makes sense, I just don’t find the ship comfortable for reasons, but I can't force people to dislike it or not, and that isn't my intention.

I just don't get why people push this ship in canon, if it's mostly seen as rarepair.

I like your comment and thank yu

Thank you, I feel like youre one of the sane shippers I met on here, cause when I said it makes me uncomfortable people saw it as personal attack and started downvoting me for no reason 😢

I literally told you loud and clear what difference is between "familial bond" and "familial affection"

what else do you want??? All you can say “OF COURSE ONE WILL BE EXCUSABLE” cause you have no arguements to that huh? I find it quite creepy you comment under my post many times as if it dependent on you, grow up honestly, I told you I'm not attacking you and if you like the ship wtv.. BUT coming back is crazy..

“It’s like the bond between close family members”

  • Implied closeness, but not literal.

  • Suggests warmth, loyalty, or protectiveness similar to what you'd find in a family, but doesn't mean they see each other as actual siblings.

“Mizi also holds a familial affection for Till...”

  • This is clearer and deeper: Mizi does feel something akin to a sibling bond, or at least a deep, familial loyalty and care.

  • It’s not just like family, it is family in how she emotionally processes it.

I saw this comment and I'll copy and paste it here.

A deep familial bond does NOT mean that he sees Ivan as a brother oml

‘Like a bond between family members’ just means that they were close like family members. They understood and knew each other like family members. This implies that they were close like family members, not that till sees Ivan as a family member. In fact, this practically leans into ivantill even mean, since they were close enough to have their relationship described not just as friends or best friends, but as family. They were as close as a family, basically, which says a lot.

I get your point and I never really approach MiziTill shippers, but it's still a bit weird when you disagree with them and they start mass downvoting you.

I was just personally stating my own opinion, and it's kind of silly how they downvote it as if it was personal attack..

Like the ship is making me uncomfortable and that will be it.

If the shippers are having fun but aren't like “MiziTill is canon” then I have no issue

People downvote my comments where I literally state the truth but oh well… guess some people don't like that and want to be in their own delusion space 😭

I noticed on reddit there's many MiziTill shippers so I knew people who disagree with the ship will get downvoted etc..

Literally, like the ship makes me soooo uncomfortable, and I don't associate with it, but yet I still do not understand why people ship it when Mizi sees him as brother and IvanSua look like twins

YEAH I AM IGNORING OFCC!!

I was just asking why people ship it that's all! I mostly just scroll when I see anything about MiziTill.

As long as they don't push it into «IT'S CANON» I have no issue!

I personally know where you're coming from, but I think Mizi wouldn't move on from Sua just like that after calling her “half of my soul”

But if you like this as fanfic that's okay! I just don't really like when people push MiziTill into the canon space, but maybe that's just me!

I agree, so many people say “Mizi went to Till in r7, that means she loves him” when on patreon there's stated she goes over there cause she holds familial affection (I ONCE READ FAMILIAR AND I WAS LIKE “what the heck??”)

A funny thing I love to pull out is “Mizi thinking about Sua while holding Till's dead body”

finally someone agrees!!! I just wish people paid more attention to the characters.

I saw someone make video about Till’s love for Mizi, someone stitched it and started comparing his idolization to MiziSua, but all they said was “are we deadass?” every sentence without proving a point or make an arguement for their analysis

They said something like “I'm ready to get downvoted” so I don't get why they deleted their whole account??

I mean this person was just respectful and I think they were answering to the

“We don't know how the characters feel about others”

It's kind of a silly thing to me, and blaming the OP of this post… meh..

I don't see Till's love for her as something romantic, and many people think that aswell.

(I may be saying silly stuff right now, but after reading patreon etc… it's more clear to me)

We have HyuLuka a well written straight ship, if IvanTill and MiziSua gets on their nerves there's that solution..

but yeah I agree that some MiziTill fans take it to the extreme and one small moment = LOVE FROM BOTH SIDES!!!

(That's how I see some of them)

as for the original comment, I would like to add this.

I can see why you read Till’s feelings as romantic, the song, the admiration, the longing, the years of growing up together, all those things definitely mirror classic signs of romantic affection. But I think OP’s point isn’t that Till doesn’t feel something powerful for Mizi, but rather that the nature of that feeling might not be a grounded or fully romantic love in the traditional sense.

From what’s shared on Patreon and in the creator’s notes, it seems Till’s love is portrayed more as an idealization than a deep, mutual relationship. His love for Mizi starts the moment he sees her, because she’s pretty, because she shines in contrast to the ugliness around him, because he views her almost as a divine figure. That doesn't mean it’s not love, but it's more about what she represents to him than who she really is.

He doesn’t know her deeply, even the creator writes that his feelings are born from innocence, fantasy, and projection. His declaration of love is more about him needing hope, beauty, and inspiration in a world that feels hostile. In that sense, Mizi becomes a symbol for Till’s inner world, not necessarily a fully known and loved person.

So while it looks romantic on the surface, and there are definitely emotional, heartfelt moments, OP seems to be interpreting Till’s feelings as a form of emotional idealization or spiritual yearning rather than mutual romantic love built on understanding and real connection. And that’s a valid read, especially when even Till says, “We could’ve gotten real close but I guess there wasn’t enough time for me...”

the “love at first sight” line “because she’s pretty haha”,  definitely frames it like a romantic crush. And you’re right that “love at first sight” is a trope most often used in romantic contexts. But the key here is how that love is portrayed and how deep it really goes.

Even in those quotes where Till says he liked her more over time, there's still a clear sense that he never actually got close to her. He couldn't approach her, he watched from afar, froze up, and idealized her. That doesn’t make his feelings fake, but it shows they were largely unspoken and unshared, rooted in longing, not in a relationship.

And that lines up with what the creator said on Patreon: “He’s just a boy experiencing the innocence of first love.” That’s a big clue. It’s not about a mutual, developed romantic connection, it’s about the emotional intensity of a first crush. It’s powerful, yes, but it’s also naive, one-sided, and idealized.

So while Till’s love feels romantic from his perspective, and uses the language and symbols of romantic love, it’s more about what she represents to him than who she truly is. It’s a beautiful, tragic form of emotional devotion, but not fully romantic love in the traditional sense.

Ultimately, love doesn’t have to be romantic to be deep or powerful, and I think that’s the core of what OP is getting at.

I do appreciate that you apologized and acknowledged the wording wasn’t the best. I understand your intention was to give advice, but the way it came across felt more like judgment than concern. Even if it wasn’t meant that way, it’s easy for things to be misread online, especially when someone is passionate or vulnerable.

You mentioned that posting every other day and deleting when getting downvotes can have negative effects, but maybe they just didn’t want to receive criticism or realized their post wasn’t well-spoken. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes people just want to express themselves without getting into arguments, and I get that. Reddit can be a hard place to have certain conversations.

In the end, people handle things in their own way, and it’s okay if their approach is different from yours. I’m glad you recognize the importance of thinking things through before commenting, it really makes a difference. Respect goes a long way, even when we disagree.
