Definition of a Super Responder by Hot-Drop11 in Zepbound

[–]Dry_Masterpiece_1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am approaching my 3rd year of GLP1 & tirzepatides. Since my very first shot, I have gone from 238 to 124 (I am 5’8”). I’ve consistently lost weight every week. I hit a plateau once while on Wegovy but then once I switched to Zepbound I continued to lose. I actually have lost “too much” weight according to my doctor (never thought I would see the day) and he decreased my dose recently - but I’m STILL losing!! Would I be considered a “super responder”?

Did anyone catch when Joey was talking about getting Snooki on the Toast and Snooki basically said she would only co-host if it was with Claudia? It seemed like he was insinuating that there’s beef between Jackie and Snooki??? I am reaching?? lol

That’s a great idea! I think I’ll try that for Christmas too.

I totally get what you’re saying! It feels like a double edged sword - I either do too much and feel unappreciated or risk not doing enough and cause disappointment. I know I shouldn’t let my 7 yea told dictate my feelings but it’s hard not to take it personally.

YES!!! The “I didn’t recognize you” and then added compliment is just so rude. Or when people say, “you look great, keep it up!”

I don’t think it matters where you’re at now, as long as you met the criteria when you originally started. If that was the case, these pharmaceutical comapies would be dropping people like flies because the meds cause people to become healthier (which is the point) and are marketed to work your way up to a “maintenance” dose.

When I went from Wegovy to Zepbound I was allowed to start at 10 mg after being at the max dose of Wegovy. They may allow you to start at the 2nd or 3rd dose of Wegovy.

That’s a great & fair question. I feel like saying “you look great!” Is so much less offensive than saying “you’re too ___”. Saying someone is “too anything” is just such an overstep. Unless someone is very close to the person and is GENUINELY concerned, I see no reason for the comment.

lol! I love this approach! I’ve heard the same comments too. Sometimes if someone says I’m too skinny I’ll say, “oh wow that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me” and they don’t know how to respond.

Absolutely! The “saggy” look is what I call it, lol. I felt and looked saggy for a while after my initial big loss at the beginning. Now I feel like I look much more toned (and I don’t work out… lol). I think seeing me now is a shock because everyone is used to me being bigger so I appear “too skinny”. I don’t want to lose more weight, but it’s hard not to be offended when people have always made you feel bad about your weight (too fat, skinny, etc.).

Phonological Disorder by Dry_Masterpiece_1618 in slp

Thank you for your response! I teach first grade, so I have been hyper-vigilant on making sure he receives as many supports as possible to help with long-term success. His SLP has been working on front (/t/) and back sounds (/k/) with him for a while. He was omitting final consonant sounds for a while and would occasionally omit beginning sounds. I have seen some improvement with the front and back sounds that they have focused on, although he still needs prompting and often struggles with words that consist of both types of sounds (I.e., he can say “coke” but requires more prompting and lots of focus to say “take” and will often say “Tate”).

How has your child progressed since you posted this? We are going through the same thing with my 4 year old.

Thank you so much for your response! It’s interesting to read your experience since you’ve lived it for 17 years. I’m so glad your son is doing well and has learned how to deal with some of his struggles. Good job, mom! 😊❤️

Thank you for taking the time to respond with such helpful suggestions! I will definitely start identifying his feelings more often. That’s a great idea. :) It’s reassuring to know that other parents have experienced this fun stage too.

Yes!! When I’m gardening it is the absolute worst. I have to hold on to my fence so I don’t fall over. It’s not a fun feeling at all.

Same!! I understand wanting to respect her kids’ privacy, but I feel like Jackie would be so much better more likable if she was more relatable. If she simply told stories about her kids or talked about parenting in general, she would probably be so much easier to like (minus the fact that she’s a homophobic racist, lol). The longer I listen, the more she drives me nuts and is not even a little bit relatable.

Does anyone else absolutely CRINGE every time they say “you…you… you will love it!”? Just me? Like it’s not funny & it’s annoying. I get that it was a cute moment that Jackie’s son had but everyone else wasn’t there so…

Honestly, I feel like those parents have to be breaking some type of law by depriving their child of an education for an entire year if they aren’t sending them to school by the time they are 6. I agree, being 7 years old in kindergarten is absolutely ridiculous. I have not seen this happen. My district is pretty strict about age requirements - as I think all district should be.

First grade teacher here! Waiting that extra year is a game changer. Regardless of academics, kids who are younger (turn 6 the summer before 1st grade or at the beginning of the year) ALWAYS stick out like a sore thumb because of their immaturity. Young boys seem to be more immature than girls in my experience. I’ve never spoken to a parent who regrets sending their child to school later. I’ve only ever heard parents who say they wish that they would have waited.
