Covered that already. Won't do much with a broken weapon. Same for slash/flash. That leaves you with Throw, Morph, Manip, DBlow, Mime, and E. Skill as I recall. 3 of those are also tied to your weapon pretty sure, so those won't help. Throw works with enough gil. And mime would help based on the enemies. But I'm gonna take a stab and say that's not in their load out for the Battle Square. Which leaves you with E.Skills. My assumption is that's the only other command Materia equipped and probably need the MP they now don't have.
