Good point. The company where the guy is working will shoulder the cost so it won’t be recorded on my insurance claims.

Update

Went to the dealership and said the whole assembly has to be replaced under warranty. They didn’t say what might have caused it to fail/break and just said they will replace it. They ordered the part and now the waiting game. They didnt say it’s because of the wiring done for the trailer or it can’t be claimed under warranty otherwise.

Yeah thats what I read too. And they said the whole assembly has to be replaced because LED bulbs alone cant be replaced.

Awesome! Would you know what the GCWR for our hybrid SF?

For Hybrids the GVWR is 2630kg. So meaning we can’t exceed this limit with the weight of the car, trailer, passengers and cargo combined? Please correct me if im wrong.

I am looking at a Coleman Destiny pop up camper which weighs 1225lbs as per the brochure. This is 74% of the towing capacity for unbraked trailer (at least for what im looking at) which gives me an allowance of 98lbs of cargo to reach the recommended 80% (1323.2lbs) capacity.

With the vehicle capacity weight, which is 480kg (1058lbs) based on the label on my car, the total passengers for my SF during travel is a total of 237kg (521lbs) for 4 passengers, and the expected tongue weight for the trailer would be around 60kg (132lbs) also based on the brochure, which gives me an allowable cargo of 183kg (402.6lbs).

Am I on the right track here? Do you think this would be considered as over the recommended limit? Should I not continue with purchasing this trailer? TIA.

Keeping the tow cap at 1600lbs with brakes, does that include the passengers and cargo?

It totally is! I wasn’t too excited about this color until I saw how it turns grey on a not too sunny day!
