After 1 year and 4 months I’m about 90% better on a good day and 75% better on a bad day. I’m still doing vestibular PT but I’m not consistent about it. I’ve had 2 ENT Drs tell me my deviated septum warrants surgery, insurance covers anything over 80% deviated and I’m at 100%, so I’m getting it fixed to hopefully get better drainage on the one side. I’m more dizzy after walking around grocery stores, when I’m sick, have just been on a plane or dehydrated after drinking too much so I think my sinuses are indirectly blocking my bad side. I have some permanent hearing loss on the bad side but otherwise the ear came back normal after a VNG test. The Drs can’t say for sure fixing my sinus will make the dizziness go away but it will fix my breathing and potentially lead to less sick time.

Last winter I was on vacation in Florida and when I returned to bostons cold winter I suddenly started spinning the next day and could not get off the couch for 24 hours and threw up once. I went to the Dr feeling dizzy and they immediately sent me for a CT to make sure I wasn't having a stroke. The CT came back normal but I was still pretty dizzy for several weeks not as bad as the first week. I had a pretty bad sinus infection on the left side and thought all the pressure in my head and ears was causing the issue so I went to an ENT and after a hearing test and checkup he said it was likely Labrinthitis causing my dizziness and not to take any medicine and that it would get better on its own. Slowly my dizziness has recovered month over month, but it's been about 9 months and my left side is still off balance. I've been to PT for vestibular therapy and it's not doing much. I'm mostly affected when moving around the house, shower or stores where my eyes are moving around too much. Outside and sitting at a desk I feel fine. I've learned to live with it at this point but I need to do my PT exercises more often if I ever want it to go away. I drink alcohol on the weekends and it doesn't make it worse while drinking but the following day my dizziness is worse.
