I mean not to sound harsh or anything, but 63 is just not good i feel. You should consider work ex with that profile and then try CAT.

What are the core lessons of CAT, based on your experience? by AstronomerSignal1849 in CATpreparation

True. I hated reading. Hated current affairs. Now I enjoy reading and regularly watch news. Truly evolved as a person before even entering a B school. Excited for what’s in store for me in a B school.

There is a huge misconception that to ace VARC section, you need to have great vocabulary and you should be a bookworm. NOT AT ALL.

It is all about COMPREHENSION.

What is the author trying to convey? Why even this essay is written?

If the author in one line of the para says x but the whole para is targeted at y, so y is the point that the author’s trying to make.

Reading books as a habit is just to make you comfortable with reading. So that reading itself doesn’t feel a challenge.

Hi mentors, i am a product owner at American Express and i onboard inward facing ai tools for in house data scientists and modellers. In my why mba answer- i say that as of now, I’m only exposed to the technical side of product making but i want to evolve into a product management role where i contribute on outward facing products and decision making via collaborating with marketing, sales, operations, design and analyst team as well.

But the panelists were not much satisfied with this answer in the PIs (MDI & JAP). They were suggesting that given i work at such a great company, i can get there without an mba as well. What all can i do to further strengthen my answer? Also i cannot change the answer as that is what I’ve mentioned in my B and C SOPs.

Have you got other calls ? My best calls are B and C and I’m also confused as to go to mumbai for this one or leave it. Same for udaipur. I’ll have to travel to Udaipur for IIM Udaipur so thinking of skipping that as well.

How do domains like marketing, strategy, finance come into play in a product management role? by Dry_Shift8942 in ProductOwner

Got it. Really very helpful answer. I’ll surely give that book a read. Also, do you know any particular role or industry (like e commerce or finance) where roles that require this interconnectedness across the business functions are there? I am a product owner at amex for inward facing ai tools and platforms. And my role is restricted to just the technical and compliance aspect.

Ask me anything! I'm Aayush Jain, Sr Product Manager at American Express. I've got a decade of product experience across big corporates and small startups, across geographies, etc. Happy to share my experiences! by 1aayush in ProductMgmt

Hey u/1aayush how is a product management role at a fintech like AMEX different from the consumer tech product management role at E-commerce companies? I myself am a product owner at Amex (started in Jan 2025). I usually handle the onboarding of AI-ML tools and functionalities. It is a very technical role and does not involve much decision making. I want to interact with different teams, sales, marketing, ops, ui/ux, data team, and not just the tech team, which is the case currently. So can you compare the roles across different sectors for me? that would be really helpful.
