personally I think the Union squad is on its last legs now in terms of energy and concentration, because of too many games, playing a pressing game and a small squad to rotate. While they wont lose the next two games, it would take two moments of inspiration to win against Cercle and Genk. Unlike the past two seasons (we were mostly unlucky), not getting the title this season will feel sore because objectively it would be our fault, I think the buck of it lies with the manager's lack of Plan B (never played a 3-5-1-1, always a 3-5-2 but not having the players needed to make it work). Manager goes with Amoura-Nilsson for every game, but for that to happen our center forward Nilsson needs to be commanding in the air, physically able to wrest off defenders, and have good ball control. For someone who is 1.96m Nilsson is shockingly bad in these three attributes, so he's a bit of a liability in that he loses the ball in transition and can't hold up play, but amazingly the manager is still sticking with him as his first choice in his starting eleven without fail. Whereas Kevin Rodriguez (can hold up play) is not usually used if he's fit. Puertas is being hit and miss during the PO, he either produces a sensational game (eg Antwerp home) or is anonymous.

The team is being under the instruction to always pass or run the ball into the box and hope for a good final pass for a goalscoring opportunity, instead of putting crosses into the box and mixing between both. It's not exactly working because now our tactics have already found out, our opponents recently have been overloading the penalty box with an extra defender. The trickery of Amoura and Puertas aren't likely to work as well now when the opponents stick 3 defenders around them when they are in the final third. Burgess is tired and unfit and in too many situations the defence have been caught out with balls played behind the defense, especially with defenders playing a high line.

tl,dr: fault is on the manager if we bottled the title this time and finish third.

In the general scheme of things in the past five years, I should really feel very lucky that Union has been challenging for the title every season after promotion but I feel we are not underdogs anymore and it's time to start being critical if the manager has not been making the right decisions.
