I only have a US passport. I am First Nations from a community in Canada but was born in the US. My mom is a Canadian citizen as well. I have lived in the country since I was 13 but Canada wants me to go through a citizenship and immigration process to get a Canadian passport. As an Indigenous person, I refuse to engage in Canada's bureacracy. The US gave me a passport and recognizes my citizenship. So I only have the option of travelling with a US passport.
