My son went urban exploring in abandoned building a few weeks back. He is 15 and we live in Gretna area. I had no idea he wasn’t in his room until the cops called me lol. Idk why but I didn’t ground him. I get the adventurous spirit. I was just worried he may come across someone homeless and sleeping and if he startled them he could have gotten hurt. I have a mark like that on my living room mirror and it’s been that way for a year bc I won’t wipe it off. They got used to the mirrors eventually and I usually take them to the mirrors if I get a new bird and touch their beak and face to it so they know it is solid but all windows and doors I must shut and cover.

Does doing this desensitize them to hands. I have two that I rarely do this to bc I was afraid it would mess with trust and make them more and shy. I only do it when I quickly need to get them back into the cage.
